    Windows 10 RT Referenced in Device Guard Group Policy

    Several years ago, Microsoft released Windows RT, a version of its desktop operating system that would run on ARM based chips that offered up the classic Windows desktop but could only run applications from the Windows Store. The OS never caught on with consumers, primarily because of a lack of clear communication from Microsoft, and the company eventually stopped offering devices running the operating system.

    While many thought that the OS was dead and the company stopped developing it, that does not appear to be the case as Windows 10 RT was spotted as a supported OS inside of Device Guard. The image you see above is from the virtual TechNet conference today and you can see that under the supported operating systems, Windows 10 RT is listed...

    A version of RT that would run on a Raspberry Pi would be something I would like to see available. Especially now that the Pi 3 is out. Windows 10 IoT isn't something that appeals to me, and isn't something I can easily make any good use out of.

    This video at channel 9 gets into Device Guard: Day 2: Windows 10 Security - Protection Against Modern Security Threats at 45:53. But you should watch the whole video as they get into Enterprise Data Protection.
