    What's the big deal?
You can still access Taskbar options with a right click.
Having them in Control Panel(or the Settings App for that matter), is just a redundancy.

Apparently you missed Post #4 where I was putting it in simple terms as far as how MS is making changes as far as the now outdated Classic Windows look to the modern touchscreen capabled gui with the two platform OS seen in 10. You also have to remember that a lot of ideas you see implemented in 10 were originated in RT for Surface tablets. 10 is the go between from tablet to desktop to tablet to laptop, etc.

Actually adding more settings into Start>Settings makes far more sense that the continual need to right click on the Start menu to find the CP option there! Generally speaking the Settings area is lacking to begin with with that constant need to bringing up a second option not found there but in the Control Panel to finish up a change you are trying in the Settings to begin with! The right click option has always been a quick and easier for the desktop user but not for devices lacking the right click ability.

Tap this tap that tap this over here tap that over there run around on touchscreen trying to get into the CP to tap dance your way around is how MS is seeing that. "We're no longer in the 90s we have to move on!" is suddenly heard in the background at an MS board room meeting.

Agree with you 100% it will be nice not to have to right click about time we all came up to 2016 and onwards

Well in general terms people at first resented the Aero style themes in Vista but widely accepted the exact same with 7! While "Metro in you face" went over like a lead balloon when 8 first arrived MS came up with a new gui incorporated into the new Start menu rather then continuing on with the need to see a full screen menu appear every time! Of course you are seeing a few 3rd party options in that dept. for 10 as well as for 8, 8.1 available.

Essentially it is called progress while Metro wasn't! You have to work things out between two separate hardware platforms entirely tweaking things left and right until you find that common ground. Reducing clutter as well as making things easier for the typical user takes time. Of course if we look back at 8 that was a sudden surprise for you slam dunk there catching everyone off guard! With 10 however MS had to get the act together and start seeing things made to work.

Actually, I guess I CAN miss the delete-checkbox, Night Hawk!

    ????????

First you click on the Edit post option found at the bottom of the post itself and you can't miss the check box for the delete option.

You'll notice I edited my post in order to grab a snipping!
!!!!!!!!! (Although I don't see how excessive punctuation is truly productive here, Night Hawk! )

I'm grateful for your excellent description of the protocol for how you, and probably everyone else, can delete their own post(s). :) But that method does not appear to be applicable to me or my accidental post (which I then edited to say what it does now - maybe that was the reason behind your "???????" question - if so, NO, what I have written was not my intended post, I assure you!) Unfortunately, now there is my first post, made by mistake, your courteous reply, and now this one that are completely off-topic because of whatever it is that is preventing me from deleting my post!

And, yes, that was what I immediately tried to do after I initially realized that there was a #8 to the right of what I was expecting to be a preview - I had pressed the [Go Advanced] button, and that's when it posted what I had originally started writing! I know..."Human error", but I was quite careful about what button I pressed! I guess it doesn't really matter, unless other people notice the same thing occurring.

I even read the FAQ section on deleting posts *gasp* (Yes, I actually read the instructions!) and I came to the same conclusion of how it is to be done. I appreciate you taking the time to capture the image and make it seem ever so clear, and there is certainly no mistaking where X marks the spot!...I could be pretty incompetent and/or illiterate and your map should still allow me to delete my post! So, thanks on behalf of those demographics! Here's what ends up happening when I try to follow it from my-side of this monitor screen thing, right here in front of me!

    So, what say you?

    Thanks, Night Hawk!:)

The most likely reason for not being able to see this done despite being able to easily illustrate how easy it is would be you having just arrived on the forums here and will need a mod or admin to see that post taken care of. I assumed you had started to post a reply or ask a question but realized you were on the wrong thread but too late? It happens at times! You click the wrong link without realizing it at first and oops!

I pmed someone to have Post #8 taken care of for you! You won't have to worry about that any.:)

I pass by the task bar directly since 20 years (right click) and the control panel one should removed. For the new settings, I do believe that the settings panel is already overloaded with switches. and there adding 4-5 more. I hope that the right click will remain, otherwise I won't complain because I like changes. I'm still waiting for a new network switch since 20 years...

    Edit: Oups! Did I say 20? No it's 22 = 3.1

Well there's one interesting item to notice about how the CP works now as compared to what was seen in the past versions.

When going to the CP>User accounts directly and clicking on the link there to make a change to the profile guess where I ended up? Back in the Start>Settings! I was simply setting up the system admin account at the time when running into that small surprise! Just note the highlighted areas to see that one.

Oh! I didn't even think about tablets or windows phones for that matter(Do they have taskbars?
I ask, as I have never even had one, in my hand.).

But for desktop or laptop users, this change still makes no difference, if you follow what I mean. Like anything Windows, there's ten ways of doing the same thing
