Thank you for your concern but, no, I have not put anyone but myself on the Insider program. Been around too long for amateur errors like that.

But I still have the original concern over the restore reset. After all, if a new rtm release is due soon, why wouldn't MS be seeing if they can keep the restore setting in these Insider Reviews?

Time will tell, as it usually does.
Excellent...thanks for the reply... Sorry for the mix up.

Doesn't seem to be 'dotted' activity wheels on the "Restarting" and Signing Out" screens.
Yes, that seems to run part & parcel with the taskbar bugs...minor stuff, though...but it's interesting how we all notice the little things like that... The build itself seems quite robust...especially running third-party applications and games...

Looks like I have to reinstall my printer.................. " Network Installation unsuccessful "
Like I have nothing better to do.............. which I don't.
Earlier in the thread I enumerated a list of housecleaning chores I do with each build (not really much of a *chore*, but still)--reinstalling my printer drivers is one of them...! In earlier builds I used to get some *22* "unknown device" entries under the Device Manager printers readout...and I kept complaining about that and finally Microsoft did something about it--now I only get *2* "unknown device" headings under Printers... But I get them every time I install a new build. I "uninstall" them from the device manager and then reinstall my printer drivers--every build. Thanks for reminding me--I'm going to ding them again with printer-driver feedback today!

Yes, another thing that get's screwed up on every new build. My default printer disappears but not it's drivers. Driver reinstall fixes it. My USB web camera gets error until I reinsert it.

But they could delete the old restore files but leave the restore on, couldn't they?

The scenario I am dreading is that if the restore is turned off in all the comps I support around the district, I am going to be peeved off if it takes hours to fix a problem instead of minutes to restore.

However, all those comps will have up-to-date images to fall back to, eh?:)
Perhaps all those comps you support around the district shouldn't be running the latest test builds

Right I could do without the arrows also but I guess they are OK if you have a lot of notification area apps running at once now and then .
This is a known bug. If you have fewer than 5 notifications in the task bar the arrows go away.

Just noticed that disable Lock Screen has stopped working for me in this build (14271). Tried several methods to disable lock screen including Brink's method and group policy editor. While the registry key is changed to disable the Lock Screen this build seems to be ignoring it.
I have the same issue in build14271. I've tried everything recommended also.

    I really don't think so.

In my experience if you have enough disk space (based on what limits I'm not sure exactly but I think ~30GB free) then restore points are defaulted to be on. If you have a small disk (or partition) then they are defaulted off.

In any case, as you say, restore points don't work after upgrade so it is only the defaulting on the on/off that is interesting.
I have 171GB of free space on my C:\ drive, yet Restore was off and has been off for every new build. So, your theory doesn't hold true for me. :)

I think Ix70 meant total disk space allocated for restore points.

Gone back to local account. These last two updates have been total trash on my laptop. Had quite enough of that.
