I downloaded the Windows Insider App and ran it.
It downloaded and installed Denim Update then I had to run the Insider App again to download W10 Phone, then it installed it.
The Insider App virtually took care of everything.
Seems Cortana isn't available on Windows 10 TP for UK devices.
Cortana didn't make the global trip in the Windows 10 for phones preview | Windows Central
Really would like to try it just afraid that I lack the ability to do something like setting it up anymore. . .will have to wait until the planned update is in place. . .
Okay..., I'm not that 'up to snuff' on Windows Phones yet but the Preview installed okay and even 'forced' a Denim upgrade!?
I've got a lot of snoopin around to do, but most applications work well so far. There's a few bugs here and there. Skype crashes the phone!
Quite a few desktop elements have been emulated on the phone. So far so good for the most part. A few images:
This is definitely a new feature of 10 as shown in the keynote. One of the cool new features, the ability to move the keyboard into a floating state like shown in the keynote, doesn't appear to be enabled on my 830. Hopefully, it's just not enabled yet and not a situation where it's only available on just bigger phones like the 1520 in the demo.
So far it was pretty seamless. Since I back up everything to Onedrive, my tiles and start screen were exactly the same from 8.1 having all sync settings enabled. Pretty awesome.
This build is super early compared to their design study shown in the video. A lot of the universal apps aren't there yet. Actually, none of the apps are in this build except the photos app. It's pretty much a tease. So you won't get the beautiful universal Outlook, store, Xbox Music, Spartan, or the sms/mms/Skype messaging app. Cortana is also ugly as it reverts to a white background like the desktop preview as seen above even though I have the dark theme going on. Hopefully, this too gets the option to go dark.
Personally, you guys aren't missing anything yet as this is barely W10 for this build.
