When I do that it moves some programs opened on secondary monitor to primary but leaves some just smaller.
It will since anything seen on the primary and secondary monitor(s) is still considered being on the same desktop. That allows you to add a new one. You won't want to try running too many things however when going to open up multiple desktops since even when running only in the background a number or programs will tend to be demanding some resources like a degree of cpu time as well as the memory used. Even with 16gb of memory here I found that one out fast when first looking at this last summer!
That helps! With a few VMs going on two machines the second being accessed remotely with the app for that taking up some as well as the VM or two on the main build while in 7 not 10 however where the Hyper-V only allows for one at time anyways the demand would be a bit greater if otherwise!
The main concept for the Virtual desktop however is for people who are working with a word processing app and may have a browser window open and suddenly something else springs up that would be in the way or someone wants to get on the machine such as a coworker to look something up. You then slide your work over. Out of sight! Out of mind! and Out of the way of the other person as well.
I tried every trick I have seen to try and force an update to 14267 from 14257, and nothing worked, and finally I did something very simple. I just clicked to leave the Insider Programme, and then rebooted, rejoined the Programme, rebooted, checked for updates and 'blow me down and shiver me timbers', it started to download updates!
So for those having issues, not seeing updates, this is worth a try.
Well one thing is definite as I was finding here! Without those latest updates going on you will continue to wait and wait and wait and....! Once the first couple of those it seems are tended to you suddenly see the 14267 update in there with the rest!
