    For the most part, Simrick, when Windows 10 removes something as "incompatible", a reinstall generally just works.

    It can also be caused by a setting in the software. For example was Ccleaner's monitoring turned on?
    That would interfere with the upgrade.

    Yeah, I always turn monitoring off on that - hate it. But I see I had 5.04 and downloaded 5.15 (or something like that), and it seems to be working fine.

    I'm fairly new to the site, Where can I ask my question about getting specific replacement files;
    to manually install back into Windows 10 ?

    I've went into the hidden applications folders and messed things up. Specifically Maps , Store, and Calculator is not functioning. And Store is completely deleted. I think if I only have a copy of those folders' perhaps I can put them in place, and these applications will work again. System restores, and recovery options cant work in my case without risk of the system not turning back on .Because of Missing files and all.

    Windows 10 Home - Version 10.0.10586 Build 10586 . My update and Account menu Settings don't work either because of corrupted files.
    If the Get-AppXPackage code doesn't work, you could try a repair install, by doing an in-place upgrade.

    She's right the Get-Appx command will make ALL your Universal Apps go:

    Not a good aaahh?! You might even go one step further if you don't have a lot on the drive at the moment and simply slap a fresh install of 10 if you can get that install.esd converted into a bootable iso image that is! You would still need to see those BT and possibly WS folders intact on the drive however to get that out before Disk Cleanup tool time! The upgrades to repair with the newer builds however wouldn't nothing close to the problematic upgrades initially seen with the 10240 and 10565 builds however.

    Mine blue screened on reboot, it did a repair job and finished installing, now it blue screens nearly every time I boot up, I'm not game to go back just in case something else goes wrong.
    The last time this happened my SSD got bricked, luckily I got it replaced under warranty, I hope it doesn't again.

    Mine tried twice now to do the repair function. No go. Bluescreen on reboot. I have turned off fast ring till this version is history. No so impressed with turn of events.

    Once again, Upgrade Install seems to fix the 'removable drives' glitch

    Not so with a Clean Install.

    Dump a fresh install for the Threshold 2 Update on and then try running the Fast option for the Get insider builds again fresh. You may a hidden problem with the present build you have on being revealed with the failing upgrade attempts?!

    Did you remember to unplug any addition drives or devices as well as any unnecessary startups to see if something loading up with Windows is getting in the way?

    Haha yep. I'm gonna try upgrading again today from the ISO. Maybe something just got messed up in the update via WU. Might try a clean install if I'm still having issues.
