New February 2015 Updates for Windows Available

I just remember some previous Windows releases that were foisted on an unsuspecting public and got a bad rap from which they never recovered. One took two major service packs (Vista) and the other a complete rethink (8 to 8.1). Lets not go for a third. Do everyone a favour and release Windows 10 when it more than ready, so it can be the best version of Windows ever. At least give technical users the option to upgrade early and less advanced users can upgrade later with DVD's possibly provided by the OEM.

I'd recommend UPDATE until nearer RTM. Sometimes drivers - especially OEM ones will install via UPDATE but install from NEW will fail as other pieces of configuration might be missing.
I know a lot of people belive seriously that doing a CLEAN install is the best way to go --but with this type of software development cycle it might no longer be th best solution.
Nearer RTM - then it's a different ballgame.

It could be a good bet that if you ever want a clean install in the future you will have to pay for a copy of Windows . . .then again who knows what Microsoft is going to do, we still have six to seven months until they make their final decision. . .

Another thing that I wonder: Will we be able to update from preview to RTM or a clean install will be needed ? I ask that because I'm already using build 9926 almost like a production OS in one of my computers.

I seldom go into my Win 7, only to check updates, and give it a pat on the head! It's a dual boot, so all same hdw, etc. I can tell you 10 is considerably snappier! I'd really like to see a nice smooth build-to-rtm update cycle so it transitions as seamlessly as possible.
Haven't messed with my Surface Pro 3 yet. Don't want to mess up my wife's coupon printing!

The powers to be said win10tp insiders would be all be eligible for upgrades to the final rtm build. And the project manager seems no problems putting out and supply iso's so far for us that like clean installs.

Well, I have been happily running with the upgrade and will just go RTM with an upgrade if that route is available. Seems as if it will be possible but, if not, so be it. I'm cool either way.

When the free upgrade hits the street I will run Windows 8 with a clean install, but not upgrade to 8.1. Once Win 8 is installed then will install Win 10 free upgrade. . .:)

Why not do a Clean Install of Win8.1?
gets you the media and then it's just a Clean install
