Microsoft Confirms New Windows 10 Build Coming This Month

    Last Updated: 13 Feb 2015 at 16:52

Microsoft rolled out Windows 10 Technical Preview build 9926 a couple of weeks ago with quite a lot of improvements, including a working version of Cortana and a revamped version of the Start menu, but it turns out that the company is already planning a brand new release for this month.

During the January 21 Windows 10 event at Microsoft's headquarters in Redmond, Joe Belfiore said that the software firm wanted to update Windows 10 Technical Preview much more often than before and hinted that a new build would indeed come in February, most likely together with the preview version of Windows 10 for phones.

Now Gabriel Aul, head of the Windows Insider program, has confirmed in a couple of tweets that Microsoft is indeed working to bring a new Windows 10 Technical Preview build to users, but he has explained that no specifics can be provided right now.Why no release date?

While Aul has revealed that an update for Windows 10 Technical Preview will indeed ship in February, he hasn't provided any kind of details, explaining that Microsoft is still working on the new build and no info can be shared at this point.

The reason for keeping such details secret is as simple as it could be: Windows 10 is still work in progress, so not even Microsoft knows when new builds would be ready to launch for users.
