Forcing driver updates is one of my annoyances with W10. I understand forcing Windows updates, but driver updates should be able to be deselected. I can't run "modern" Windows Update without having that months old GPU driver downloaded and installed.

Might want to check the driver version. Windows Update kept installing months old drivers on my system. I ended up having to do a reg edit so that I could block the install. May have happened to you too.

Newest drivers are 14.501.1003.0. The ones WU installed on my W10 9926 install were 14.201.1008.1002.
Yeah, MS does this for some reason - probably because the OEM gives them drivers to test and they test a great deal of machines configurations. Not all OEM releases pass the muster on all test beds. The next OEM driver that passes all tests gets downloaded though MS.

You have one machine, MS has a billion users with one or more machines!

I treat drivers the same way I treat BIOS - if there's a bug and a fix, I'll update. If there's an issue and no fix, I wait (sometimes a year or more) until the OEM addresses the issue. When things are running fine, I don't bother to get the latest and greatest - that might introduce an issue.

That's just what I do though, everyone manages their machine(s) differently.

AMD has confirmed that it is working on graphics drivers for Windows 10 preview builds, after various reports from users facing issues emerged online.

According to AMD's Windows 10 information page, the existing driver packages for the company's products are compatible with the technical preview builds. However, with the launch of the latest 9926 build users have started reporting issues with device detection.
Users running Windows 10's latest consumer preview build have reported on Microsoft Answers forum, that they are getting a "code 43" in Device Manager for their AMD graphics cards. The matter was also raised by a Twitter user in reply to Windows Insider head, Gabriel Aul's tweet.

The laptop I have the Technical Preview build 9266 installed on my Acer with an ATI 6850 graphics card.
Well, Buckeye, that's a mighty old build you got there. We're all on Build 9926. :)

It may be more accurate to say that they are making new drivers for DirectX 12.

I'll be anxiously waiting. I have a HP Envy Sleekbook with an AMD A10 processor and HD8610G graphics. Didn't try Windows 10 on it yet because of the drivers.

On my laptop that has AMD/AMD dual graphics I kept getting a "No AMD graphics driver installed or the AMD driver is not functioning properly. Please install the correct AMD driver appropriate for your graphics hardware" popup. That was with the driver Windows 10 installed in the background shortly after the first boot up. I've since ditched 10 on that PC and gone back to Windows 8.1. I give 10 another go though if they release a new driver.
I just went to HP to try updating the drivers on this laptop, but of course none could be found. Then I went to NVidia, but I guess the graphics card is a tad bit too old because it wasn't even found. I could go to AMD, but I think I'll just go ahead and roll back to Windows 8.1 when I get my new laptop somewhere around the 25th.

Currently using the following as a Home Theater PC:
    AMD A8-6600K APU
    MSI R7-250 GPU
Denon Receiver & 60" LG LED Smart TV

Upgraded to Build 9926 yesterday (64bit), and it replaced my AMD drivers and deleted the Catalyst Control Center. The only real problem this caused me is that now my display is not filling the screen (underscanning), which I could adjust for using settings in the Control Center. When I attempt to reinstall the latest drivers and Catalyst Control Center, it fails to load the detection driver and locks up the installation application. I could work around this using the settings on my flat-screen, but that would throw it off for all the other stuff I am running on it. We'll see how long it takes to get this fixed.......

Try installing 14.12 Omega drivers but only CCC. But check for CCC in Programs first, I didn't manage for it to show on taskbar automatically.

I'll check it out and let you know what I find. I do know it's not listed under APPS. I was also unaware that CCC could be installed independently from the drivers. Thanks.
