Forbidden Planet was way ahead of it's time...completed in 1955 and released in the spring of 1956 (after much post production work) it is a real classic with a unique theme (based on shakespeare's "The Tempest") and with great special effects for it's time and even the assistance of one of Walt Disney's animators (Joshua Meador) who did a lot of fill in effects including the unforgettable "ID" monster...And let's not forget the "musical tonalities" used in place of regular music) which was created by a french couple who lived in Greenwich Village in Manhattan...
And of course there is Robby The Robot whose voice was dubbed by actor Marvin Miller (well known for the 50s tv show "The Millionaire")...
Interesting Note: Both Robby and "B9" (The Lost in Space Robot) were designed by the same man, Robert Kinoshita, who passed away just a year ago at age 100....
Not only is it a fascinating movie, it has a rather fascinating background as well :)

I would think there would be a Windows.old you could look at if the upgrade took place. BUT! I will emphasize you would also see the Insider build's watermark in the lower right hand corner of the screen! So if you didn't still have the Window.old folder to look in under the users folder user account sub folder and in the Favorites and Favorites bar sub folders for what you had to restore being found there as well it didn't download.
One way to be sure would be taking ownership over the "C:\$Windows~BT" and other folders at the root of C and see those gone. When the latest build arrives it will be unpacked onto the drive seeing teh "~WS" possibly with the 64bit Windows and maybe the "~QT" folder as well as along with the "~BT" When the WS is present the BT will only hold the language packs there being turned into the optional temp insstall folder. The folder that not only sees the "Sources" folder which is also used for those packs but also sees the "Sources\Windows\sources" sub folder layout will be the one with the install.esd and install.wim files and show the latest arrived and you check the update again and watch as the install option presents itself as you would see with any other now "recommended update"!
Here on the main build I am quite well set on the 10 side of the dual boot with 7 where 10 Pro is activated on VM there while 10 Home is activated on a second machine also seeing a 10 Insider/7 Pro dual boot used as the test machine for a variety of things. I can make any changes I want there while keeping the main the same as always having bought a separate license for 10 now the host/boot default OS while 7 will be needing to see a clean install again since that 2013 clean install is now a bit ragged!
What would actually help with this however is not trying to convert the install.esd to iso but having a direct download like seen in the Insider Program there rather then need either an MSDN or TechNet account for a direct download. The conversion tool for one guide posted in 2014 was intended for and must have worked on the pre Tech Preview Alpha but not for anything at this time. The Threshold 2 build is still what the Media Creation tool and Tech Bench Program's download page is presently seeing.

OTOH MS Office is more refined and polished than Open Office but O. O. works also.
Aside from being more polished and maybe faster and faster at loading/ opening a document it's likely MS Office or at least Office 365 plays nicer with window 10 ,legacy MS Office products and One Drive than O.O. anyway ......Fair enough :)Wynona
Reasoning as above for not using anything other than what I have.
Generally the first thing required is seeing 10 activated regardless of the build or release you are running. Then the options for Personlization become available where you switch between those provided in 10 or go with the external options pointed to. But that first requirement is what will see the doors for the rest opened up for you.
I get a kick out of the promotional comments I run into about 10 being so much faster while running a pair of desktops here both seeing 10/7 dual boots without even needing any bench marks to make comparisons. 10 is a larger OS to begin with being a now more user friendly dual platform form of OS explaining much of that. But unlike the way people complained about Vista MS has gone a bit further in developing the MinWin kernel brought in by 7.
So you are taking a version of Windows even larger then Vista and giving it the advantage of being a performer like 7 had been but while still being a larger OS. This is what has to be looked at more so then simply trying to stack the two versions against each other but try stacking 10 against Vista instead to see where the actual progress had been made. :)

FWIW here are some Windows 10 14257 rs1 vs Windows 7 x64 Passmark x64bencharks note that HDD Disc Mark and Memory Mark throughput I/O results are significantly slower in Windows 10 vs windows 7.
I have obtained similar and consistent results on most of the W10 insider test builds since 10029 and on the 10542 RTM and 10586 th2 stable builds .
Some of the earlier results I posted at MS Insiders forum are maybe still there or were there before the M.S. storm troopers deleted them like they always do if it's unfavorable to Windows 10 ☻☻
The testing was done on the same PC and partitioned NTFS HDD for all operating systems and the the results are almost the same variance since 10029 .
I agree with W 10 having more features and convenience . I have normally activated Windows 10 10586 th2 on 3 PC's here aside from 14257 rs1 and 10586 th2 on this PC on the same NTFS HDD by choice .
HDWE Benchmarks don't always reflect how we use our PC's .
My impression is with the compressed memory page file and other code optimizations Windows 10 is mostly faster or no slower on the web and for casual lt. office use etc. than Win 7 and PC gaming is real decent here and then there is the DX12 api for the gamer's and the significantly reduced latency audio stack in Windows 10 . < The music folks are liking that it can otherwise cost many thousands of $$$ in HDWE for the same latency reduction:)
OTOH for heavy grunt work like compiling and checking code that might be another matter.... maybe some one here could enlighten us on that and tell us which OS is faster there. FWIW some of the dev's at the Windows Insider forums favor Windows 7 there and there have been some lively discussions about that .
AFAIK Windows 10 lost a lot of unnecessary legacy code along with getting a more efficient Kernel ,DX 12 and a new audio and video stack ,compressed memory page file ,significant code optimization and *may have a smaller footprint than Win 7 .
I could check the 2 Win pro ISO file sizes without accounting for variances in compressible (compressed ) file sizes . I have both of them
The run time or ( metro style apps ) and new features are probably insignificant in size as first installed without any additions from the Windows store compared to the rest of the OS .
Even with all my windows store apps in addition to the embedded run time apps altogether they only take up 6.3 GB
Lastly I have to wonder if the changes to Windows 10 altogether and the compressed Ram page file aren't skewing the Passmark HDD Mark and Memory Mark results ..........or very cleverly compensating for slower HDD and memory I/O throughput
None the less the Windows 10 Passmark scores vs Windows 7 myself and some others posted can (and did ) make for an interesting discussion and tweak the MS storm troopers and the W 10 fanboy noses at MS on the Insider forums......... maybe here also with some of the members at some point or in another thread who knows ? :)
OTOH large multiple file enumerations outside of benchmarks is slower on W 10 in my experience and not by a small amount ( time ) either but I haven't timed it lately since long before these rs1 builds .
AFAIK to do it right you need 2 similarly configured clean installs on the same NTFS HDD and the same files without any significant fragmentation .....maybe a sequential drive image write to the same partitioned NTFS HDD would be a better test :)

Can't say as I do while anyone at a very young age wouldn't necessarily remember a name like that after some 50yrs. or so without looking it up in a dictionary unless having been born and bred in Russia at the time when that was the big news of the day! For those of us here in the states alive back then the Mercury onto Gemini projects were forefront as tv reporting was also the new ball game of the day back then as well! Remember watching Walter Cronkite reporting live from the previously name Cape Canaveral later Kennedy Space Center in memory of the 35th president.
I also remember when the elementary school teacher came in one day a very sad one in November to state that all were dismissed for the rest of the day! It was actually his goal to land the first man on the moon that pushed things to make that happen with the goal being to land a man on the moon within the next 10yrs.! Armstrong stepped onto the surface of the moon without Kenneday being around to see the realization of the moment! Kennedy had obviously been reacting to the news that the Russians had successfully put a man in orbit.
A dog isn't so much smarter as you might think since chimps are generally more trainable. They are generally smarter then gorillas however in contrast. The thing to remember is that various animal species are rated to have IQs almost or about equal to those of small children and capable of being taught how to do things. Dolphins are like that as well but won't work out too well in a space suit!
