I wasn't on Vista long enough to love or hate it I was a free upgrade on a qualifying purchases at that time,
Except for my laptop which I did buy a upgrade to 7 because I liked it out of the box
My only gripe was Libraries which did grow on me eventually and I find them useful

I can't say that for 8 or now 10tp out of the box
I personally never liked or used messengers now the live titles thing is where Microsoft is at and I find it an opposite of my preference,
10 wants a Microsoft account for a computer login so all of these live apps will setup and make life easier for those that did use messenger.....
I avoided Bing desktop search and Onedrive now they're both set in stone in the install of 10tp I can't say I like that at all,

I also can't say Microsoft message popups have improved at all "You have apps that can open that file"
Really which app is that lol
Open a doc file and word opens.....

So right now allot is just a pestware or bloatware if I don't use it or want it installed
Much hopefully will change in the final release of which I've already formatted and ready for the next build to appear and I'll see what that is like

At this recent build I'm not a fan out of the box

    Hi there.

    Remember the old adage :

"The price of Education is expensive ... the price of Ignorance is Astronomical".

I believe that statement came from "The Emerald Isle - Ireland" - but it's certainly even truer today than when that expression was first used.

    Cheers

That's not how the market works. Margins are razor think in the computer market. The only way to make more money is to sell more volume. The only way to sell more volume is to find ways to shave the price lower than your competitor. So it's just not in their interest to get paid by crapware vendors and NOT lower the price... why build bad will from your customer if it's not going to actually gain you more sales?

Things work in volume in the PC business... if you sell 1000 unites it costs $x per unit but if you sell 10,000 units it costs $x - y% volume discount from your hardware vendors, so you gain much more by lowering your cost than you do by raising your margin.
Well, of course, you're always right, so why should we discuss anything?

Three of the top reasons manufacturers load their products with trademarks and bloatware:

    - they want to sell more products/make more money
    - they can expedite marketing and design having you test their products for them
    - more stringent control over warranty issues

I don't participate in conversations I don't know things about. So yeah, it often seems like I am "always right". If you frequently give opinions about things which you don't have experience in, you might find that people who do have experience in that frequently tell you differently. You learn something. That's what discussions are about.

    MS Bloatware

We all know about the aftermarket crap that comes on new computers, and many of us who actually work on computers, have spent untold hours UN-Installing that stuff. I'm especially ticked off by the blatant SPYWARE that's on many new PC's.

But aside from that, how about all the apps in Windows that almost NOBODY ever uses, and that you can't delete?

Right now, I'm thinking about Windows Mail, which is still there but won't even work.
And how many people around the world, have ever used the "Movie Maker" ???
I don't! I'd love to delete it, but it won't GO. Ever tried to delete "Pinball" ? You can't. Take it out and it pops right back. Now that's CRAP!

I could Greatly reduce the size of Windows on my hard drive, if only I could delete all the things that I don't use and don't even want on my HD.

That's one thing I'd love to see in Windows 10..... the ability to delete things I don't want!

Solved Will the update to windows 10 remove all the Asus bloatware ?
As I'm sure you're all aware, Asus (and others) love to fill up their laptop harddrives with bloatware and junk. My question is simple - when I get the upgrade to windows 10, will it automatically get rid of all that rubbish ? Thanks.
