I have helped 12 people who had upgraded their computers to Windows 10 and then got very angry. They were casual home users who had no background in computers. The first question has been where are my IE favorites and what's Cortana. Most of them hated Edge and want to know why they can't play DVDs anymore. It is hard to explain to them their loss of playing DVDs without more anger. I have trained a couple of people so they can help their friends and family out after the 10 upgrade and that is going smooth. It has been a rocky road for people who know very little about computers and just want to look at their e-mail, browse the internet and play their home videos on DVD. All of the problems have been fixable but not by the casual users I know who don't care what their OS is.

I generally agree with everything you have said with the exception of one statement:

It's not courage it's ARROGANCE ! and it does not need to be done! It's all about $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$

I think you are right. But actions like that will eventually erode their customer base.
