    Hi, new member here.
I too have been experiencing problems since the Firefox 44.x release came out. Here is the directory for ALL Firefox releases. I replaced 44.x with a 43.x release and my problems went away. I do suggest that if you do this you first save your Firefox profile somewhere safe! It's located at Users/youruserID/AppData/Mozilla/Firefox/profiles.ini where youruserID is your login name. As always, no guarantees on success!

Hello amtronic Welcome to the Ten Forums!

Here I kept two or three previous versions as far as what is seen in the open source line up of FF, Opera, and the variants in case of this type of problem coming up with a latest version and being forced to take a few steps back until things are cleared up. I actually have more browsers running on 10 now that I ever had running on 7 over the last 6yrs. while it hasn't been just FF x64 which is only three versions old at this point but problems with the 64bit Waterfox variant I tried out about 4yrs. ago plus recently giving the Cyberfox variant a good run.

While the report there is pointing Norton II doubt the entire buggyness is Norton only to begin with but has another bug for that software to be worked out as well. The 44.0 and then now with the 44.0.2 on I have been seeing FF freeze up solid for no reason and then when trying to get it closed out it suddenly springs back to life again. And it's not from scripts on sites while one particular site was being a head ache trying to get at a few reports.

As for the profiles you will find them under "C:\users\user account\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox" and can simply back up the entire FF folder! Afterwards you see to that it overwrites the new one for the previous release. Plus you can also see a backup for all of your bookmarks made and kept safe in the same folder you decide to copy and paste the FF folder to. Nothing like keeping both in folder used to store a couple of system images in! :)
