I guess Comcast had different pricing structures depending on where you live.
They must have. Here's what is available in my area:
    1. 3 Mbps @ $29.95
    2. 6 Mbps @ $49.95
    3. 25 Mbps @ $53.95
    4. 105 Mbps @ $63.95
    5. 150 Mbps @ $ 79.99
You must have Xfinity TV or Voice.
150 Mbps also come with the Triple Play package.

And none of the numbers include any additional charges which there are a bunch.
    Internet is already freaking outrageous
These regulations will only make it worse.

Good point. OK. Here in France internet is a human right (apparently) and can't be taken away but isn't of course free (about $30 unlimited a month including basic TV/phone).

Can't comment on pricing vs US but as far as I can figure internet should cost more in the US than small European countries as (I hope I'm not being contentious here) the US is bigger. You'd need longer cables and so on.

    $30 for phone/basic tv/Internet. That is cheap.
here in kind of rural Canada 11k from nearest town , I pay $210.00cdn to a Cable company for the same ,except my tv is not basic ,it digital with 1 rented high def PVR and 2 regular digital boxes hooked to 3 TV's

€30 actually which is about $33. But France is sparsely populated for Europe (it is the size of Texas and only about twice the population). Some smaller counties are cheaper. That was my point - if there are lots of people close together it is cheaper than if you have to run cables 100s of miles for just a couple of guys. Probably.
here in Canada ,my Province anyway ,they will not run and cable for miles for a few people ,I live in a Y in the main road[main rd is about 20Kl long but most housed were on the other end ] ,cable company came off the main rd and came in my way only 7 houses ,they stopped at my house ,people on the rest of the main rd[8kl] never got cable . my in-laws across the road from me have to use the wifi as there homes are serviced from the main rd
there are only 2 cable company's in my province ,and one has a deal with the government to supply wifi to rural areas ,and it not the company that's in my neighbourhood . so that what other in my hood have to use wifi ,there is also a satellite 4g wifi available ,but that's very pricy and has caps

That what it is here in Indiana (maybe a few dollars difference on the higher packages). BunnyJ service must have been grandfathered in. Until recently you couldn't even get Internet at $29.95 with limited tv service. You would had to pay at lot more for Economy Internet even though you had limited cable tv. I use number 1 myself. My internet special runs out in March or April. I find out surprisingly the videos I watch have very little buffering if any. Buffering doesn't bother me in the least, because when done it doesn't skip a word. I watched movies & tv shows at hulu, internet movie database, Xfinity, Amazon, lifetime, etc I also watch some youtube vidoes.

My cable bill is just over $300.00 a month. Xfinity Triple Play with 2 DVRs, 1 HD box and 1 standard box. If they raise the prices again I'll switch to a cheaper plan even though the family will lose some of their favorite channels. If it was just me I'd put up a antennae go with the internet and phone only plan.

time for you and get a android tv box ,it has lots of options for movies and current recorded tv.

and an another options for folks reading this post is a android emulator[I have installed it on win7 and win8 and 10 and it works great ] and run it on a computer you can hook to a tv
I use both of these option .but I still need my cable tv for live news and cannels like sport and Discovery and NatGeo and the like
