Also this build 14251 knocked out TOR Browser which can no longer be installed properly. When starting TOR I get :

    "Couldn't load XPCOM"

Reinstalling TOR did not help. I will work on it tomorrow.

When I run services.msc I get a script error. I am unable to change any services.
Just close out the 'Script Error' and switch to 'Standard' view on bottom left.
Should come up in Standard view from then on.

Mmmm, think I know what the problem will be. I installed the Malwarebytes Anti-ransomeware prog a couple of days ago.

Uninstalled it and now will try again.
Oh, crap, Lin, so did I. In fact, there was an update this evening. I just now got to "Restart Now" so I guess I'll read the rest of the thread and then restart.

Waiting to find out if I need to uninstall the Anti-Ransomware. Thanks for the hint.

OK, I'm at the end of the thread, so I'll whack the "Restart Now" button to see what happens.

Gee, wish you hadn't followed me, Wyn. My install was seriously trashed with the reversion to 11102.

I had to reload a backup image to fix mine.

Good luck, I hope you don't suffer my fate.

Done! Looks like I didn't suffer your fate, Lin. The only problem I had was keeping my eyes open while 14251 installed. And wonder of wonders, it left Firefox alone as my default. And Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware is intact and seems to be working.

I'll check things out a bit more tomorrow . . . heading for bed now.

This build keeps locking up on me. I've had it lock up when launching Chrome, when playing GTA V and when exiting Assassin's Creed. Guess I'm rolling back to 10099.
