Nobody knows what's really going on. Maybe at MS, but perhaps not even there. FWIW, I usually get new builds a day after they're announced...
    I fear it may not see the need for the update because it has already updated this one.

    Just found a registry entry that shows it has recovered from 14251 so maybe it won't ever try again after failing once? There is also a reference to 14251 under 'FailedInstallations'.

    Doesn't look hopeful, then.

    I don't know. It's a mystery how it all works. That was really the point of my post - it really shouldn't be so mysterious. Communication from MS is cryptic and inconclusive. I don't know why, but it has been this way for many years.
