Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16281

I downloaded an unofficial ISO of 11099, did a clean install and still I'm not getting 11102 even after setting EnablePreviewBuilds to 1 in the registry. So obviously something is still not right.

I just prefer a clean install, but the latest official build through the media creation tool was 10565 or 10568 last time I checked. I hate having to install an old build just to update to the new one. I know the process isn't as inefficient as the old days but every upgrade still eats HDD space even after deleting windows.old. So it's not totally clean. Stuff is still being left behind. I wish they still put out the ISO's the same time as the upgrade.
If I'm not mistaken, you can use the media creation tool with the older builds and you'll then be updated to the current Build. I don't have anything to put it on or I'd try it to be sure.

Thanks CountMike..... unfortunately mine is identical other than FlightingOwnerGUID, which I assume is unique. Appreciate the screenshot though.

Wyona - Yeah that will work. I just used the tool now to do an ISO of whatever build they currently release. Before they had a simple download page with the build stated. Now for whatever reason you need a tool to download some mystery build. Gotta love progress .

Seems that's my only option to get back to a clean official build. I think it's build 10568. Install that, update to 11102. Just doesn't seem to be an unofficial ISO that updates builds. I get defender definitions and everything says it's fine, but no new builds. Anyway....just did this install a week ago. I'll just grab the unofficial 11102 until I find the motivation to go again with 10568 official.

    Thanks for the help.

Just be careful where you get those unofficial builds from; they can put something on your computer that Gramma's lye soap won't take off!

Good point.... if I can't verify to my satisfaction then it might be best to bite the bullet and go with the official build for another clean install. Doing that itself isn't really a hassle, it's the hours of getting all the settings the way I like, re-installing programs etc.

    For the best though.

I found this script on line http://www.nextofwindows.com/windows...n-wsclient-dll and ran it in command prompt (admin) and it fixed the problem.
