Has there been a reason posted for this? There are a couple of things that always get turned off doing an update.

With more of these coming this year is there a reason that this happens and/or?
My guess would be that MS doesn't want us to be able to Restore our systems if we don't like the way things wound up. They'd rather make us do it the way they want, not what's easier for us.

Wyn, we were posting at the same time....
Why is System Restore turned off in Windows 10? (And how to switch it back on again)

This gives a fairly good explanation. Basically, MS is trying to get the storage footprint down as far as possible to run on low-end devices.

Thanks for the link. I thought it would be like something that was stated "Nobody is entirely sure, but some current theories are:"

I suppose it's because system needs to be as close to default as possible so it doesn't interfere with updates. It's been happening since long time ago.

That with the OpenCL.dll seems to be a sticking point in Win10, doesn't it? I mean a few users have had problems with it.
I would think its a lot more than just a FEW users, as Windows 10 does this to any newer version of the Nvidia cards starting with the 700 series and up. That's a lot of versions Cliff. Every time a user runs SFC it removes 1 Nvidia driver completely and replaces 2 others. Also heard it to affect some AMD cards also.

Is there any significance in the very detailed watermark? Other builds left it out altogether.

I noticed in my Insider VM it turned of system protection too, but this only happens in my VM where I only have allotted 30GB space, so I believe that it might have to do with space requirements, because this has never happened on my laptop or desktop.
You know, the "small footprint" thang

Only RTM (10586.xx) has no watermark. Any "Beta" version will have the watermark. My guess on the long verbage is they are trying to show the flighting progress. That 160113 is the date the final "lab" was done, 01/13/2016, then it went to internal testing before release to us on 01/20.
