Agreed. I am very satisfied with w10. I don't understand people who avoid updating at all costs. W7 was good but w10 is way way better.
What makes W10 way better. I run both and did not yet find that "way better".

Yes we all know I'm disenchanted with Windows 10. However, performance is NOT on that list of complaints. Mine are all UI and placement related. Startup and navigational speed are indeed superlative. (although I did find Windows 8.1 just a tad better on that same test machine)

My tests were with x86 builds on an old P4 3 GHz box with 1 GB of RAM, and yet the speed was surprising.

I don't think that you can categorically say that Windows 10 is better or worse than previous versions of Windows. Too much depends on what the computers are used for.

For example, my family computer needs a simple GUI and hence is on Windows 7. My work computer needs stability (can't use continual updates all the time) and hence is on Windows 8.1. My hobby computer is on Windows 10 since the earliest Technical Preview days, etc., etc.

To each his own, even for computers :)

    Well, I will name 3.
    1. Better security than 7. I know you can't see this. And yes I have the privacy settings turned off for almost all apps.
How do you know that? What exactly do you mean by security?

After removing hundreds of viruses/malware from infected windows 7 PCs since 2009 and still having to remove viruses/malware. I have not had to remove a virus on a windows 10 PC so far. Yes, my production PCs are about a dozen so far, but other pros I work with haven't had problems either. So that is my real world observation, about security. It probably helps to have your Firewall and GPs setup correctly.

    Security improvements since Windows 7:
    • system-wide SmartScreen protection (beyond the browser)
    • media Apps run in AppContainer (stronger sandboxes elsewhere too)
    • credential guard, device guard, etc., etc.

Microsoft deserves credit in this regard, IMHO.
