This update refused to install on my laptop after downloading, the strange thing is the cumulative update (KB3124263) installed successfully (took around 4 tries) while the windows malicious removal tool (KB890830) didn't.
i am downloading the tool from microsoft now, well i have no clue why it didn't install

I’ve now resolved my update-problems, by using the 'media creation toolŽ, to download and reinstall windows 10 (upgrade), and choosing to download all the updates, and I’m now on windows 10 1511 build 10586.63!
Installed security update kb3124263 today and it wiped out my entire PC - files, default settings, other programs - everything! There isn't even a restore point available! Very weird and makes me want to switch to iOS!! Glad I have Carbonite so I can get all my files back but have to set up everything else that was wiped out, just like it's a brand new PC. My laptop is not that old and this should not have occurred! Lenovo Yoga 2
Well it seems you have forgotten the most important rule when it comes to computers: Backup, backup, backup. Create images of your system drive and you will never have to reinstall Windows again.
