Hey everybody. First post and need some help.
I had to reset my pc after I had an issue with the November update and am on build 10240. I am not receiving updates to the newer builds. I tried resetting the update files following these instructions but it didn't allow me to update.
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/w...e-399d01305d19
It looks like I need to manually download and install the packages for all 10586 builds. (I tried the downloads in the original post but got an error message they weren't compatible for this computer (I checked and did download the x64 version for my 64 bit OS). Can anyone give me the KB numbers for the packages so I can manually download all the 10586 updates? Would it be easier to use the media creation tool, and if so, can I keep all my data and third party programs?
Thanks in advance.
This update just keeps failing on my Laptop computer, what should I do to install it?? I have already tried to download and install it offline, but that didn't work either...
The one I downloaded was : http://download.windowsupdate.com/d/...14f5dd2eab.msu
And I've also tried to download it via Microsoft Update Catalog
Please help me install this update!
Have you tried any of these links posted by Cluster Head
Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 KB3124263 - Windows 10 Forums
It is the first post
I just want to make sure, which Windows 10 version do you have ?
In the search box next to Start button, type Winver > press Enter.
What do you see ?
Do you have 10240 like cmatt posted, or 10586.36 like the screenshot shown below?
If you have version 10240, then the update mentioned in this thread is not for you.
You should have started a new thread.
You need to upgrade your Win 10 10240 to version 10586.
Use one of the links below and download the ISO....................
Media Creation Tool ( MCT ) :
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/softw...load/techbench
Tech Bench
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/softw...load/techbench
Using MCT as example................
Download the Tool and run it.
Then select Create installation media for another PC
That will begin downloading the ISO file to your computer.
When download is completed, RIGHT click at the ISO > click Mount > click Setup.exe.
That will begin installing Windows 10.
You have the choice of keeping settings, files and apps, or keeping nothing.
No product key is required.
Activation will be automatic.
After you have successfully upgraded/updated to version 10586, then Windows Update will take care of the rest.
You guys shouldn't have piggy-backed a thread which has nothing to do with your problem or question.
This method will uninstall both Mail and Calendar, if that is acceptable to you.....................
Right click at Start > select Command Prompt (Admin) > type powershell > press Enter.
At the flashing prompt, copy and paste this..........
Get-AppxPackage *windowscommunicationsapps* | Remove-AppxPackage
> press Enter.
