The recovery of space by performing a disk cleanup. and is rarely if ever detrimental,
Registry cleaning is rarely of practical use as the amount of space saved is negligible,
Aggressive cleaning of the registry has caused system failures (ccleaner is a non aggressive registry cleaner, and I have ran it myself, after a full backup of the system and the registry, to highlight potential keys and branches to be manually removed, I allow it to analyze only, any repairs are performed manually using regedit ),.
My own experience in having to re-install systems for users who have believed the salesmen of aggressive registry cleaning products is all the evidence I have, but is sufficient for me YMMV
Hi,
Registry collects a lot of garbage too. Leaving it there won't harm anything most likely but then why collect useless entries in a registry ?
A decent regcleaner should make a ful backup of the registry and a backup of everything you let it remove.
A regcleaner does not "fix" problems but might prevent them from happening.
Cheers
Hi,
Maybe the problems encountered were not on your end but on that other end ?Never had that privilege.
Cheers,
