I hope it comes out with the next build so we can test it out.
    Hopefully!

Now BuildFeed has confirmed that 9918 is the latest version included in the “awesome” branch, which, according to some clues rolled out by Gabriel Aul himself, could be the channel bringing us the January Technical Preview.

At this point, Microsoft doesn’t want to comment on the January Technical Preview, but people close to the development work said that a new build could ship soon after the January 21 event in Redmond.

At this event, the company is expected to share more information on its Windows 10 work, as well as details about Windows Phone 10, Spartan browser, and Cortana on the desktop.

    Hi there

The browser should still say be able to load an application and present it to the video device rather than run it from WITHIN the browser. As far as the external user is concerned it would look exactly like the browser was running the way it works currently -- but it would be a lot more secure and only the application would need updating not the browser. It would also get rid of those zillions of plugins and addons.

I don't know too much about programming but to my Engineers way of thinking it would be a lot easier to call a separate module than have the whole lot kludged up as a total piece of spaghetti which could be (and are) riddled with security loopholes. Just think of the number of security patches that have been made to browsers running malicious code loaded by some dubious website.

    Cheers

I am not to keen on your reasoning, on this, though I usually agree with you on most things.

First, I generally dislike most of the apps the companies come out with. Example, I much prefer Netflix browser method, over the Windows 8 Metro app. Instead of PLEX I use Mediabrowser 3, and their web client, I again, much prefer over their installed app.

If I had to use a separate app for, let's say, Youtube, facebook, Twitter, etc. that would drive me bonkers. So, I really much prefer the browser approach, for most common applications.

I have a smartTV but find it really dumb, I rarely use it as one ,Netflix now and then, anyway I have more than one tv ,but only one smart one ,so on the other tv I have a android box [cost me 100.00$ cdn on ebay],it turns the tv into a smart tv all kinds of apps ,and I use it for Netflix and an app called Showbox, similar app to Netflix only free. ,
Its worth the money so one doesn't have to use a browser for netflix

Another image with Cortana in the address bar. I wonder if that's going to work like 'Google Now'?
