Recovered to an earlier copy. Now it found downloaded and installed happily. Thanks folks. I will advise all Lenovo users to get and Install AOMEI recovery pronto, and create a recovery partition. OneKey as supplied by Lenovo does not work in Win10. The only thing missing is support for the Touchscreen.

Unable to Access APP STORE, Windows Update or to use the Edge Browser.

I was hoping this might fix the wierdness I am seeing on my system and that of other folks who have upgraded. I have even deleted everything... reinstalled Windows 7, waited two days for all the stupid updates. Then installed via the Windows 10 ISO method to save on my bandwidth. It seems ok but then my network ICON shows a bang and it alternates between claiming internet access and no internet access. I am unable to use the EDGE browser ( no big loss there) nor the App Store ( ok now I'm not happy).. however.. I'm writing this from one of several similar computers.. All different upgrade situations and hardware. No commonality at all. Firefox and Chrome work great and I'm getting great speed. I'm going to show you my network adaptor properties for the curious.

I've contacted the wonder techs at Microsoft because well... it was polite. However after wasting a little over half an hour, the technician just bailed out. Pretty sure it was because she was clueless. I've saved all of the chat files to use in a web post later this week.

In any event. I am loath to move forward in suggesting anyone upgrade to Windows 10 unless I can find a solution. I will visit a friend tomorrow and download the update :
Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511: December 17, 2015 ,with a windows 7 system and see what happens. This is also occurring on a 6 year old HP system with a clean HP Factory install and then a Windows Refresh ( clean ? ) install. (Sorry I forgot what windows called it when I did it but I asked it to delete stuff) and a three year old system that had no issues and nothing done other than the upgrade.

    Ideas ? Suggestions?

Realtek network works flawlessly, never a problem. I suspect that Intel drivers are bad (the ones MS supply). Did you try drivers straight from Intel ?

Overall the system feels more responsive, and now on 10586.36 :)
Update went fine, but I don't see any improvement in speed or responsiveness.

This unpredictability is a serious concern for upgrading work computers.
    ----------------------------
FWIW, my Windows 10 hobby computer just got the .36 update and it did fix a minor bug (or was it homework not done?) An app icon pinned to the taskbar gets highlighted if the app is launched (as it should be). Previously, a second icon appeared in the taskbar when the app was launched (as it should not be).

I am asking myself more and more these days how much homework MSFT still has to do...

Easy answer, a lot but they already know that.

Well, disappointing in a way, of the free upgrade year only six months are left, and in terms of basic OS functionality, Windows 10 still has some catching up to do compared to Windows 7/8.1

Can't deny the magic of new features, though, e.g. Cortana has the popular draw that the Eliza chatbot had, etc. and those new features thus provide genuine value to certain user segments.

I just wish that Microsoft de-emphasizes new features in favor of bullet-proofing basic OS functionality, but all indicators are that Microsoft will be running even faster towards new features

    Oh well, end of rant.

Indubitably but it's pretty well out of our hands no matter how much MS was asking for opinions, I sent dozens of them. Suspect very small number of all the suggestions were even taken into account.

What luck. Now my hard disk crashes. Win10 is still Diagnosing after four hours! Now a simple question. I need to obviously get a new Disk from Lenovo and then install Win10 (64 bit) Single Language. Since the last time I removed all partitions and then formatted the drive, I do not expect too many problems. There was a lot of Lenovo junk. I am thinking of using Rufus to make me a bootable USB pen drive.

The download I have is dated 25 August. Where can I find the latest ISO image and whether it includes 1511!!
