Win X menu is present here too bad the file copy/transfer bar is not always present .
Insider Twitter says maybe a new Insider test build after the new year hopefully it will be fixed at that time .
I got an email from Gabe saying there would be a new build after the holidays.

With the Windows 10 November update and another Preview Build just released, look for a new desktop preview build after the holidays when we’ll introduce even more exciting Windows enhancements. In the meantime, we’re using the time now to catch up on some internal infrastructure improvements.
I'm ready to see what's next.

    Hi there

Latest build is inoperable as a VM on Linux host -- control panel doesn't work -- start up OK then just disappears, bottom taskbar disappears randomly and of course the lack of progress bar on copy / move files is a mega nuisance. Networking to Samba is broken too.

(Note apart from the file progress indicator - these defects are on a W10 running as a VM on a Linux host using VMware workstation ver 12. Could be a VMware problem -- running on a Windows host works but taskbar still disappears randomly and of course the well known file progress display problem).

Previous release perfectly OK on VM on Linux host. Given up on this build as a VM until next build comes out.

I need Windows to run as a VM on a Linux host -- BTW the RTM (retail version) works fine as a VM on Linux --it's just the Insider preview build that has these defects.

    Cheers

    Hi Jimbo.
Whilst sympathising with your predicament, I don't think Microsoft give a damn that W10 insider build cannot host Linux, nor should they.

What is this build good for?

As usual nowadays no info from MS as what to look into.
    This is what I've found;
    - performance is worse,
    - same network bug,
    - no "Bells and Whistles",
    - stability is the same,
    - "known issues" added.
This build is a total disaster in terms of progress.

How can MS expect us to help when they release meaningless builds like this and keep us in the dark?!

The reason why Microsoft run an insider program is hopefully to sort out any anomalies.
The idea being the more users testing and reporting faults the better for a future product.
As for your quotes "no info as to what to look into" and "keep us in the dark", if M$ knew all the answers WHY would they need insiders?

Hopefully you are providing feedback, though I disagree with your "total disaster", as enormous progress has been made since the first W10 insider release in July of last year, thanks to insiders. and M$ incorporating many suggestions.

Remember this is still an ongoing project in development ie- Redstone.
