I have various Linux distros lurking on my computers for ages but still didn't find any that can run a fraction of stuff I use windows for. If it worked better or even as well as Windows I would have switched to it immediately.

A migration plan where nothing went wrong. 100% user satisfaction. Total Propaganda.

I am not an Edge fan either, but remember this is a Windows 10 forums so you may be jeered at for not being in love with every thing Microsoft puts out. The spying issue is something I think every browser does, some more than others. However, if your concerns are particularly about Edge, the best thing to do is not use Windows 10, since it is the only platform Edge runs on.

As someone else said "it is only a browser", as Windows 10 is only an OS. Others do the job as well or better.
First off, this is a 13+ page thread just about a browser.. all modern browsers are good and don't forget that Edge is on version 1 while the others are at 42+. Try to code up your own browser and see how it matches up.

Also.. Go use any distribution of Linux if you dislike MS so much.

Microsoft Edge is Google Chrome, with a different look.... Also, Internet Explorer is still here, also. Neither of these browsers is shown in apps menu or program list in control panel. BUT, they are there. Google Chrome is in your registry.......I.E. is listed in program files UNDER This PC : C drive.
How do I know Edge is Chrome ? A U.S. government scan of my P.C. told me so. I had to do an on-line background check for a job with the V.A. on a site called e-Qip. It scanned my P.C. for browser compatibility. It told me I was using Google Chrome 4.2 while I was at their site using Edge....LOL....

Edge cannot be a version of Chrome.
Why because Chrome messes with my system and slows it up and I have a search bar right across the middle of the screen, so uninstalled it again.
Speccy and Belarc both bring it up as Edge

There is more likely an issue with your system then a bug with Chrome..

Then it has to be a setting that you're using on all three. I know that many users, including myself, have had zero issues with Chrome for years.. Check your PC's before blaming Chrome.

Strange that, our company has around ten machines and Chrome works wonderfully on all of them. There are three computers in my house, again, Chrome works very well on all three.

I'm struggling to remember a single occasion when I had trouble with Chrome. It isn't my browser of choice, I predominantly use Firefox with DuckDuckGo as my search engine, but Chrome runs pretty much flawlessly when I do use it, I've certainly never had any sort of search bar problem.
