Forget it! I'll just 'kill' Edge altogether!

I don't actually believe that Edge is necessarily inferior to Internet Explorer, but I just thought this was funny.

    Here's what I would do:
If you need to shut down Edge (You do!), go to the details tab in Task Manager, right click the Microsoft Edge.exe line and select End Process tree to shut Edge down.

You may wish to create a restore point now, just in case...
    In File Explorer, navigate to:

    \Users\Username\AppData\Local\Packages\

right click on Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe folder and select delete.

I have had no problems with permissions, but if there are on your setup, you may need to take ownership etc.

Now Edge will not open - problem solved :) - but if you ever want to use Edge again it needs to be reinstalled.

click and type pow - it should find Windows Powershell - right click and select Run as administrator from the menu.
copy the text from the codebox below, go to the Powershell console, and right click to paste the code and press enter

    Code:
    Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers -Name Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml" -Verbose}
you should see this when the operation has completed:

Edge is ready to use in a nice new factory fresh state, on the Welcome to Edge - Get started page, but you may prefer a reboot first.

One of the nice competent Powershell users (unlike me) here may be kind enough to to script this Edge reset and reinstall to a single script for your convenience.

I am trying Edge once again - without RoboForm, which I rely upon so much. It is adaptable once I input my login info at each site and I find it manageable and really like it at this point. I guess the clue is just keep trying. BTW my cpu useage and temps are very low while using it.

I didn't even try Edge due to the "incredible moving window" bug. Open a small non-maximized Edge window. Close it. Open a new window. It doesn't open in the same place. Small thing? Maybe - but what a obnoxious and oh so obvious bug for MS to have let through.

I'm still trying to found out where in the OS Edge stores cookies. There are places in the 'Edge' folder in 'packages' but I can delete these and Edge still retains the cookies and sites still open correctly.

I'm looking for an easy way to export a file with initial cookies and site preferences set (for around 40 sites) that will then allow me to do a full browser clean at some point, and just allow these exported settings to be imported back in (as you can in IE). No luck so far, and I've spent quite some time looking.

Following upgrade to W10 the font size of "Other Bookmarks" has reduced in size. Normal browser sizes are fine, just the Bookmark too small. Any way to increase those without increasing everything else? Thanks.
Finally managed to get 10 up and running today! Yipee! The first thing I did was try Edge and I'm not impressed. So I've switched back to Chrome and it seems to be ok. I went with Chrome mainly for Chrometana. How is Firefox working for people...
