Does it fix what went wrong in Windows 8 though?
I haven’t installed Windows 10 yet, although I’ve been following the changes as an observer and it appears they haven’t really changed much so far compared to Windows 8.1. Predominantly just windowed store apps, multiple desktops and the option of a Start Menu.
Reading on the Internet is a far cry from installing and using Windows 10.
I'd suggest that before offering up your review, you actually try the OS first.
Actually, that how I decided most of my purchase I make online buy reading comments and views from others. Including this computer I am using. However, I did try windows 10 tech preview and I glad I stopped testing it, I have my reasons. End users are not suppose test windows 10 but Microsoft is not forbidding them for doing so.

Which Beta are you using?
I'm on Build 9841 at this very moment because I like the features on it the best, (with the possible exception of Build 9901!), but I can't open 'Update and Recovery'/'Preview Builds' because it wants to force an update on me!
I can't tell you which beta, Edwin, or I'd violate my NDA. 
I'm on Build 9879 and it seems fine to me. So far I don't seem to be having problems with it and as I said, the updates have installed with no problems. Also, the build that's supposed to be affected is 9879, not 9841. So you're in the clear as far as I know.
Edit: I should have said patches, rather than updates to 9879.

Well, of course a large number of us have used exactly this same method when determining what to purchase, Groze. And there's nothing wrong with your method, because most of us simply have no other way of determining the facts. We read reviews and experiences by others who have used the product and/or software. Having said that, however, would you buy (or choose not to buy) a computer that was reviewed by someone who had never used it? Would you buy (or choose not to buy) Microsoft Office for Android on my say-so if I'd never used it?

I think what you mean is that we shouldn't use Windows 10 for production work, and you may be right. To me, production work is for monetary gain, and I don't do anything on my computers except test Microsoft product and/or other beta testing. This is a test machine. I am not qualified to judge whether the rest of the other 1,500,000 Windows Insiders who have Windows 10 installed are legitimate.

MS said that if you are running a leaked version of W10 that the next release, expected in Jan would not install. Those version still get minor updates.

That isn't what I'm talking about, Jim. This has to do with patches to Build 9879, not the January update.

My point is that you have to kick the tires on this OS before you can judge it. You really can't get a full feel for it until you do. IMO.

Why aren't end users supposed to test Win10?? The entire purpose of the TP was to get feedback from the end users.

The average user should be allowed to test the TP just as much as the "expert" is. You seem to be coming off as a bit elitist, IMO.

I am nothing like an elitist. Now don't put words into my mouth. I am just pointing out what Microsoft said not what I said. I don't give a hoot who tries Windows 10 preview. There would be no need for a consumer preview if consumers are already testing windows 10 just my opinion.
