Yes, it is, but it rolls with too many people complaining 
My own experience with one computer upgraded to Windows 10 has been positive, but I am not ready to upgrade my other computers yet. I hope that the complaints will subside to normal, acceptable levels before the free upgrade year is over.

Lee why don't you take your MAC and use it to buy some games or software so you can stop having useless comments about things you know nothing about. I have never cared what you think nor do I care if you don't like what I say. I have every right to complain about the attitude of the OS vendor just as you have every right to post your comments. I would say that a MAC user is hardly a windows fan but more likely an Apple user.
There is no need to be so rude to Lee.
For your information Lee has a number of times given good advice.

With the way MS is practically forcing the conversion of W-10 on users (unsuspecting users in many cases) I doubt the complaints will go down. In fact, I think the complaints could go up because many of the users targeted may not be prepared to deal with the potential consequences of the install. Those that have not upgraded to W-10 either don't want it or are totally unaware of it. I suspect there are millions in both groups. This could get ugly as we get into 2016 as MS continues this assault. Any automatic downloads pertaining to W-10 should be strictly limited to basic, general information and anything beyond that should 100% voluntary and we all know that is far from the case.
My trust for MS is at the bottom of the scale right along with CNET.

I found GWX Control Panel
http://ultimateoutsider.com/downloads/ after setting it up, there are no more nag screens, it even has a monitor function to alert the user if MS is trying to pull shenanigans by sneaking W10 items into your computer.
I haven't had the nag for several weeks now but if it starts up again, I'll certainly give that program a try. Thanks.

Couldn't be bothered with the entire thread, but MS are a PiTA with the W10 upgrade prompts on earlier builds.
In general I've had to twice remove and block particular updates whose only purpose is to serve up nag screens and beguile users into upgrading when they may be best not to.
OK, it doesn't sound much, but when I look after several hundred PC's in diverse locations it's been a real butt pain... 
And that's without taking into account end users who foolishly click on 'restore all updates...'
I'd assumed membership of the former W7 forum mean't one was also a member here, but I've just found out otherwise.

Hi and welcome to the 10 forums. I understand that MS is a bit pushy with 10 and it's frustrating to some. But overall I find it to be one of the best OS's MS has ever came out with.
Also, I thought a person had to sign up to this site to gain access and no one was automatically enrolled.

The best part is that, although they are, basically, forcing users to upgrade, the final solution to some problems is "perform a clean install", which is amazing and very user friendly.

How is a clean-install "very user-friendly" -- when, unless you know to back up your data and settings, and have the media for reinstalling all your applications, you lose everything in the process?? That doesn't sound at all user-friendly, to me.

I'm with you Mark, unless you have nothing on your computer "clean install" is a PIA, I have years of stuff, including many, many favorites, probably 40 or 50 shortcuts on the desktop, any number of small installed programs, and I don't even know how many settings I would have to change that are different than default.
Certainly not an iOS fan but AFAIK those move to the next version pretty painlessly. So instead of painlessly upgrading to the next version, now with W10 you have to screw around reinstalling ("clean installing") the upgrade OS. Then if you have the knowledge, and the media, you spend time backing everything up you want to keep. After you've upgraded, reverse the process and put all the backed up items back in the new upgraded OS.
Might be a thing for those that enjoy doing that, but not for me, if an updated OS is going to come from windows update then that's how it needs to work.
Many users don't even know what ver. of W10 they're on, and don't know that their update failed. MS needs to get it right, or on this they've flopped, just like they did on Win8.

I usually recommend a clean install as a last resort unless you just bought a new computer.
