Microsoft Pulls Windows 10 Mobile 10586.29 Update

    Posted: 15 Dec 2015

Microsoft rolled out Windows 10 Mobile 10586.29 earlier this month, but it appears that owners of the new Microsoft flagship phones, Lumia 950 and 950 XL are having some major problems with it.
Microsoft has decided to pull the update from its servers while it investigates the issues and comes up with a way to fix them.

That seems to have become a recurring situation.................... releasing something and then pulling it afterwards.
How does it do to Microsoft image ?
Some heads should be rolling at HQ.

If Windows Mobile isn't around in a few years, then I think Microsoft will be in real trouble in the future outside of business applications.

I'm seeing more and more people using big screen phones instead of the PC's for day-to-day computing, and these are techy-type people, not just teens using the latest messaging app fad. Windows Mobile has to work and to be honest, I'm not sure why it isn't working. The 640 is a really nice phone, as is the 640XL which for example is quarter of the price of the iPhone equivalent, with the ability to use Micro SD cards in it (with large capacities cards being pretty cheap now), have it with dual SIM slots, etc.

It baffles me why Windows Phone isn't doing as well as it should, but Windows Mobile has to work. Microsoft can't afford to be out of that game for their future as an OS maker. You only have to look at an Intel NUC i7, then look at Continuum on the 950, and then think where they're both going to go in the next 10-15 years.

However back on topic, I agree with the above poster that Microsoft need to up the QA testing.

Has Microsoft been awarded the well established ISO standards to ensure high quality software engineering? It seems an independent audit of Microsoft QA standards may be due?
