Threshold-2 solved the numerous Edge freeze-ups and Internet disconnection issues I experienced from August to November. But it introduced some problems with Edge occasionally not showing visited sites on the New Tabs page and automatically logging me out of TenForums.com when I close the browser. A fair trade-off, because the freezes and disconnects were more than annoying.

That's weird.. After 1511 (clean install), I got internet (wifi) disconnects at odd times, but never had any such issue in the original July release of 10. 1511 seems too buggy for me to even use at the moment...

I have tested this update and i didnt have any issues with it on my insider build or my personal pc when they released the update. i heard alot of people have so i dont know what happened from when they released it from when i tested it everything seemed to work fine. also Microsoft from what i heard recalled the update and is going over it to try and fix the bugs. im not sure if they will be sending it out to insiders again for testing or if they will re-release the update with the fixes. we will have to wait and see what they plan to do i havent heard much more then that as of yet. i agree with all new software there are bound to be bugs its not necessarily the users fault but some bug can get by insiders and Microsoft software developers. it all depends on how they present themselves and when.

Since Threshold-2, my EDGE browser now prints everything in "Normal" (ink sucking) print, unless I remember each time to change it to "Draft" quality in the Edge "more settings" dialogue. This occurs on both my HP and Brother printers, with each print job, regardless of how I have the print output set in "Devices and Printers".

The conspirator in me says that Microsoft gets money from major Printer manufacturers to do this. After all Windows10 is Free, which means we have to pay in some other way, because NOTHING from huge corporations (or govt) is truly FREE.

    I have the following problems

When I click on the rubbish bin it sometimes simply freezes and the whole desktop locks up, no task manager available have to do a forced restart via the button on front of the PC.

Sometimes using explorer (and probably linked to the above) the same happens.

If I create a new file/folder sometimes the same happens.

    Start ups sometimes don't work.

I'm desperately trying to like windows 10, but it keeps looking uglier each day, I can't help but feel the start menu is simply the windows 8 start screen in a box!! and has lots of bugs at least on my PC. After using the likes of Linux mint, and Windows 7 Frankly it just isn't nice to look at.

It could be a variety of other reasons of course, but at least that one checks out okay.

I occasionally have something similar happen even on Win7. Probably unrelated to your problem, but I thought I'd mention it.

Sometimes when I try to empty the the Recycle Bin parts of Windows lock up - usually not everything, but I can't start new tasks. I use Process Explorer rather than Task Manager, but the effect is the same - it won't start so I can't see what is going on. During this hang I hear sleeping drives waking up. (I've got one internal expansion drive, one USB external expansion drive and one NAS drive.) The internal and USB external drive are supported by the Recycle function so I assume they have to crank up before emptying the Recycle Bin will work ... whether or not they have had anything deleted.

All that sort of makes sense, but the hang seems to be much longer than it takes for the drives to get up to speed. And I don't see why it should delay the starting of new tasks (as long as the program doesn't reside on one of the expansion drives).

I've never had to reboot to get out of this, so it may be unrelated to your problem.

Sleeping drives makes a lot of sense actually, that could be the problem, i need to set them not to..if that's possible.
