Hi
Personally I log in with a private account and have One Drive turned off.
When it started telling me it was going to start automatically adding new files to the cloud I decided that I wanted to control what I upload. I suppose that there is a way to control it but it was easier to turn it off then to figure it out.

Count me as one of those not happy with this change
I moved a lot of my data over to Onedrive due to how it worked in 8.1, in 10 currently its almost useless for me now
looking forward to seeing more changes between now and when 10 comes out

I'm definitely not happy with the changes to onedrive in the newest build. Personally, I liked being able to use the metro Onedrive app to see what was uploading, how fast it was uploading, etc. I didn't make use of the placeholder feature mentioned in the cited article, but it looked like something I would likely use in the future if/when I get a Windows tablet. Really, it just seems like a lot of options with onedrive have been removed. I know not everyone likes to use Onedrive, but why take the options away from us that do like to use it?

Not exactly, although it took me awhile to understand OneDrive > Now a change. I'm not happy as I can't use the Modern app that's forcing me to use File Explorer instead. As of yet anyway. The only way to access the app is Settings > Change PC settings > OneDrive > "See my files on OneDrive":

This is an Admin account signing into my PC with an MS/Live account, but says to sign in within Charms > Options:

Right clicking on a OneDrive child folder in File Explorer has option "More OneDrive sharing options" or "View in OneDrive.com" opens OneDrive.com. Notice that they've added "PCs", although my 8.1 PC or Lumia WP8.1 has not been added. I think ultimately this is what it will end up being > All "MS account devices" will be listed. Not sure, though. My TonysWTP drive partition as I named is. It shows all drives whether they are online or not. Exterior drives, thumbs, etc.

All in all, I don't think they couldn't or didn't think this far ahead when creating OneDrive especially including it within OS file systems. They will refine it eventually. Remember > It's about "Devices and Services". Having 3 devices with OneDrive on them myself is getting somewhat a little overwhelming, although the Lumia doesn't have a file system > yet. Some day it may. It's getting quite sophisticated.
I guess it all started when some users didn't understand "placeholders/smart files", which is where one wants to store the hard copy of a file. In 8.1 OneDrive folders viewed with "Details" shows a "Availability" column, but 10 does not. Don't know why.
