Testers protest abrupt changes in Windows 10's OneDrive

Test as you like computers and operating systems are user dependent
I'll choose the euro versions way and there will be no dominate Microsoft account on it and that's the way it's always been in the u.s. with x-p/ Vista/ win-7 and that's the my bottom line.

Treating onedrive.... as a website and manually uploading and or downloading content when I want too or not

I'm not surprised....

I have about almost 200ish gigs of OneDrive, of which is almost halfway being used. Having my tablet potentially saying I'm out of disk space an hour after installing 10 because of my OneDrive wouldn't impress me. That's how OneDrive used to work when it was SkyDrive and as a separate program in Windows 7; it straight up downloaded the WHOLE shebang onto your SkyDrive directory. That's no good for sure.

It'd be best if we can friggin' selectively upload items to OneDrive from File Explorer. Go to your Documents folder, right click or Share to OneDrive from the Ribbon, that document gets uploaded but not only that, it doesn't copy itself on your OneDrive folder but is shown as a smart file. Clicking on that opens your local document, if changes are made it is reflected on the smart file and the local copy.

If you're not connected to the matrix, you should be expecting to NOT have access to your cloud storage from the get-go.... I don't know about anyone else, but I wouldn't want to download my whole OneDrive account to my local drive. It doesn't help that what's in my OneDrive folder on my hard drive is almost the whole size of what's on my OneDrive as is.

Well, this version of OneDrive (in W10) allows you to select which folders you want synced, but not individual files. I guess it would be relatively simple to move all the data you want syncing into a "syncing area" (folder), and keep non-syncing data out of it (or vice versa). What people are complaining about (and I'm not happy either) is that we have lost the placeholder functionality, for now at least. This was very useful to those who understood how it worked. MS has said they hope eventually to put it back in, but they're not promising to do so for W10 release. In my opinion, it should be available as advanced functionality. It's true that the feature could confuse non-computer-literate users, but for those with Windows tablets or with limited hard disk space, it was a brilliant feature, and also saved a lot of bandwidth.

As default these would then not be shown
If someone turns on the option to show hidden files then they would appear and be greyed out and works as now
also have an option in the app like now so you can see all folders and select what to sync

that would cover people who want to see all, only want to see whats offline and also allow people to pick which folders to sync
