First Major Update for Windows 10 Available
-
I have both an Asus Transformer T100 and a Nextbook Flexx 10 running build 10586 with no battery drain problems at all, so obviously your second assumption must be true because both my Windows tablets are working properly.
I am sure you have it too, but sadly, you dont know that you have it. Show me proof that your connected standby drain is ~0.33%/h like it should be, otherwise, no proof at all. Here is mine: https://i.imgur.com/c4ImbWg.jpg
You can easily see a drain of ~1%/h which is a bug.
I also see a Cortana usage of about 20% over the past 24h which I didnt use at all, I also have Cortana disabled (to how much you can disable it, still always has a CPU usage of about 0.5-1% and always listening/spying). MS still again lied about Cortana using less battery with TH2...

Make no mistake. MS is pushing forward with WinRT. This is but a mere "training period" for all to do just that.
Again, I'll predict that 10 years from now there won't be any desktop as we know it today. Perhaps maybe sooner.
Eek, where will I put my coffee cup..!!?

Did you get Office 2016 downloaded and installed?
Francis
Sure did! :) My best guess is that the Office servers were diverted to help handle the Windows 10 Version 1511 upgrade. I forced myself to wait until the next day and everything went fine.
I thought I'd posted an update, but guess I didn't. My bad.

I'm not one to sing praises of Win10 -- but, in all fairness, MS deserves credit for how well this Upgrade went.
Ran upgrade by inserting USB stick made from MCT, running setup.exe.
Less than 30 minutes, start to new desktop, everything saved, everything works!
Good Job, MS!!

You could have but I've only dipping in and out of this thread so could have missed it.

Yeh, Mark, when things are running right, that's how it goes . . . I had the same experience with this desktop . . . except when my clean install finished my computer had reverted to Windows 10 Home!
But when things go bad with an upgrade, all H E Double Toothpick breaks loose.
Thankfully we have these forums to help us when we get into trouble. What would I do without them?

LOL! We'll be drinking virtual reality coffee out of a virtual reality cup setting it on a virtual reality desktop.

Yep, unless you get in on the ground floor and have time to spend reading (like being retired), it can get cumbersome.

Admittedly, I haven't been using Win10 all that much lately, so this could have been true before 1511, but today, after I did the upgrade and went into Personalize to change the default color, I NOW notice that the Start Menu is translucent! I thought that previously, it was opaque.
