I think you dont understand what I said in my first post or what connected standby is. Fast startup isnt used on a tablet and has nothing to do with connected standby.
Sorry - didn't know what connected standby was. You can turn it off:
Start the registry editor (regedit.exe).
Move to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power.
Double-click CsEnabled and set to 0, then click OK.

What he basically said/suggested in short is: Powering on your cell phone when you click the power button, wait 2 minutes, look on SMS, power it down again by pressing power button :~)

so is this a tablet issue in your mind or an OS issue..
I assume you are talking battery life..
Or does the OS not comply with the standard set..

I have both an Asus Transformer T100 and a Nextbook Flexx 10 running build 10586 with no battery drain problems at all, so obviously your second assumption must be true because both my Windows tablets are working properly.

Enterprise (perhaps Education also?) now have their own WU server system which has been separated from Pro and Home. The Store is different as well. It's in Shawn's OP in Aul's announcement under "Simplifying IT for Continuous Innovation".
I'm not currently running Education. When I was and went to the MCT and selected upgrade this PC now, it came back as unsupported. I didn't wait to see if it would upgrade via Windows update. New ISO's showed up on MSDN and I decided to clean install Pro this time around. I can easily switch to Education by doing a change product key. When I was running 8.0 Enterprise I'm pretty sure I had to clean install to go to 8.1 Enterprise. That's why I think you might have to this time around. I clean installed 10865 Enterprise anyway so I don't know if you can upgrade with an ISO. In hind site I should have tried it. Just wasn't thinking at the time.

Just did a clean install on my wife's laptop. I used a stock unmodified ISO as a test. I started the install, went to custom and deleted all the partitions so there was no trace of a previous OS. Quit the install and started over from scratch with a blank hard drive. I was not asked to chose Home or Pro and not asked to enter a key. 10 Home was installed by default and activated. Checking activation it states it activated with a digital entitlement. This PC was running 10 Pro with a digital entitlement before I wiped the drive. It looks like it read and used the Windows 8.0 Core OEM embedded key. 10 Home was never installed or activated on this laptop. Just a heads up for those doing a clean install on a blank hard drive. My next step is to run showkey and see what keys it shows. Then I'm going to change product code and enter the generic Pro key and see what happens. Will report back.
EDIT: showkey shows the installed key as the 10 Home generic key. And lists the 8.0 OEM key. I just entered the generic Pro key and its upgrading. I'll post back when done and I check activation again.
EDIT: Upgraded and activated without issue. Activation shows activated with a Digital Entitlement. Settings > Update & Security > Activation
Same thing happened to me, Alpha. I now have Home instead of Pro like I should have! To say I was surprised is an understatement!
I have a Windows 8.1 Pro key, so if I change my key, will that update me to where I belong?

Since win 10 became available I have found that using the media tool and selecting the upgrade my computer now option have worked out the best for me and that includes the current upgrade.
MCT upgrade now works well for me also and you can always do a clean install inside of Windows later if you need to .
The 3 W10 PC's here had upgrade now installs of RTM 10240 over fresh ,activated clean installs of 7 x64 in Aug. so there was not years of accumulation that way the first time W10 activation went smooth .
I understand now in 10586.3 you can just enter the product key on bare metal installs if you need to .

That is what I used also, Media Creation Tool. Had no problems what so ever. I put mine on a USB stick, because I was updating another PC too. I did my clean install on this machine only 2 months ago, saw no need to do it again. :)
