Meaning if run setup from making an ISO now, won't it be similar to upgrade, like was done at the beginning on July 29th compared to having a clean install

The RTM 10240 > 10586.3 in place update from the Media creation tool went smooth I kept mt files and settings etc 10240 was a recent clean install so it should be fine it seems to be working well except the same isssue of images not showing in open mail in the windows 10 e mail client app that I have in 10586.3 on the Insider hdd partition is present here also . I'm using an e mail outside of Outlook and it always worked fine before 10586 and 10586.3 and I have removed and re installed the e mail app.

Not a deal breaker I can use my same email from a web browser anyway. I made start menu tiles with my e mail icon /browser link for the start menu . I dropped it into the start menu program folder and pinned it to the start menu or I can use the task bar icon .

I've just seen a Windows update FAQ saying if you've upgraded in last 31 days then won't be offered the update until 31 days have passed so it's possible to revert back. Ok, i never upgraded from 7 as its a new PC which the manufacturer pre installed but that was only a couple weeks ago. Could it be this is having an effect?

I am talking about doing an Update - Upgrade.....
Instead of waiting for the Windows Update to come through...

Although with the ISO you can do either Update (upgrade) or clean installation...

You can do a clean install or in place update at least 3 ways ,one from the media creation tool directly with a download or from a USB or ISO download tool you can download with the media creation tool they will all be updated as of today to 10586.3 and current as of today . I just finished an in place upgrade from RTM 10240 to 10586.3 gen. release with the Media Creation Tool it gave me all those options .

In all cases the W10 installer gives you the option to do a clean install or in place upgrade and keep your files and settings as before . The Installer set up it defaults to and in place update unless you change it on the installation option splash screen .

I knew what you meant. Basically considered an update, not an upgrade. Thought would be a difference from doing it from the ISO compared to the windows update is all.
