Hello, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

Yes, it's true. It'll eventually be available in Windows Update.

If needed, you could also download an Enterprise ISO below, and manually upgrade to TH2.

From the bits of info I'm picking up an twitter that seems to be the case, I may reinstall with Pro next time if I'm not going to get the updates as they happen.

Can someone explain to me why is everyone so excited and impatient to upgrade? From what I've read, this update doesn't really offer that much for normal users and is mostly aimed at business consumers.
Because that is what this forum is about. If you don't upgrade you can't catch up with the conversation. What's in, what's out and what not. And most people here are Insiders. And that's what Insiders do.

The Windows Update to the July 29th Initial Release was a BIG Mess via Windows Update

Download the ISO from MCT or TechBench and Upgrade that way...

To upgrade run setup.exe within your current version of windows..

This will update to the latest release as of today, if we are already running windows 10?
Yes, with a gotcha . . . I always go back to Update and Security and there were updates waiting for me. This took me from 10586.0 to 10586.3 which is the final for today I think.

Normally, you should be able to update to it in Windows Update.

You will need to be sure to perform an upgrade install like in the tutorial below, and not a clean install. :)

I just went through the whole hour+ long update on another computer and its still on Build 10240. So it appears the media creation tool does not do the latest upgrade as proposed in several postings in this thread.

Is the $Windows.~WS folder suppose to be there before you get the update from WU, or does it get installed afterwards?
My $Windows.~BT modified 1:02PM and $Windows.~WS Modified 12:52PM but I still don't have the update TH2 showing yet.
    We just gotta wait :)

    cheers

Wow, this update sounds like a disaster reading all this. Are there actually any success stories from updating via the normal Windows update method? The average user is not going to up for media creation/ISO jiggery pokery. It's making me very nervous about getting home and a) the update even showing up and b) the thing actually downloading and then installing

And we have this stress to enjoy every 4 to 6 months!
The Media Creation Tool is so simple to use, even a first grader can do it. Oh! I forgot . . . first graders know more about computers than I do. :)
