Do not boot from the DVD. Insert the DVD with Windows 10 running, like you would to play a movie. Then run setup.exe on the DVD from inside Windows 10.
Yep, I made that mistake and now the blasted laptop is updating instead of doing a clean install. Which means I'll have to do the whole thing all over again tomorrow!

I've done 3 so far. Enterprise on my laptop and Pro on my 2 desktops. I will eventually do a clean install of Pro on my wife's laptop too. I don't mind starting over with a clean slate.

Yeah, but I've seen too many experienced members say the update went South on them.
I downloaded the ISO, used Rufus to put installation files on a USB drive, and used that drive to update 3 PCs in place without so much as a hiccup. And no problems since.

The updates getting bigger and bigger, and install time is like insane, really unheard of. And one have to finish the update, because when the system reboots, the process starts allover again.
