First Major Update for Windows 10 Available
-
I downloaded the new media creation tool and created a .iso on my desktop. Is it possible to look at the iso and determine what version/build it is?
It's probably going to be 10586.0, Meebers. Still, it's not all that bad to "update" to 10586.3 in light of the fact that an upgrade takes an hour or more while a clean install takes less than half that.
Still, there are those who have their systems set up like they want it and I can see why they update. I was due for a clean install, though. :)

UPDATE from Gabe:
We're focused on the broad delivery of 10586 to customers right now, it will be a few more days before a new Mobile build

First going to do a W7 upgrade and then do the clean install with this .iso. Have 10583.3 on my insider build.

I did not see any update come in for windows 10 home today so far.
I'm in Iowa, on Windows 10 Pro, and haven't seen the update come in yet, either. Downloading w/Media Creation Tool now. :)

It did and I had to check for updates/perform them to go from .0 to .3.
OK. Thanks, J.

Just used the media creation to upgrade to the new version. So weird seeing colored title bars after getting used to the white. Shame to see the flickering pinned to task bar issue still happens though.

Doing an update on this one . My licenced windows 10 RTM partition is highy customized and optimised like my test build but more so with lots more files ,media and apps and it's a recent clean install anyway .
I use the Insider test build NTFS partition for the daily driver ,the web etc . and acesss what I need from the regular licenced W10 partion or storage drive with desktop shortcuts or the File Exp. directory tree . Both O.S. use Chrome as default browsers
sent from 10240 RTM .
