My 64 bit Home machine showed the update in WU, downloaded the entire update, and then failed during the install. Then it did the whole thing again. Then again. In all it downloaded the entire update and then failed at installing the update four times. Now it no longer shows the update in WU (though, to be fair, I was on the east coast of the US when it was downloading and failing at updating, and I have since relocated to southern India, so it is possible India hasn't received the update yet).
Anyone else experience this? The crazy thing is, it is not listed in my update history, either. My WU history shows 5 failed attempts at installing KB3097617, but that is not the upgrade to 10586, right?
Luckily, I managed to snag an ISO of both 32 & 64 bit versions using the Media Creator Tool before MS took it down (or replaced it with the old one). So that's good, some friends still need to upgrade from 8.1, it will be nice to have that ISO. I also just used that ISO on my spare machine, which was running 64 bit Home build 10240, and it worked fine.... though it took FOREVER. Multiple hours. Three is when I lost count. But all seems okay now... Again, anyone else experience that kind of install time?
Is it worth it to upgrade my main machine using the ISO? Or should I just wait it out and hope that eventually WU gets itself sorted out?
I don't know if this is the right place to make this question but, does anyone have links for those isos? I stupidly deleted my x64 Windows 10 Pro one the other day... and although I don't need it right now, we never know.
