Does losing your desktop after coming out of sleep mode count for something? I did manage to do a system restore which worked. I am still running 10586.11.
I don't do Sleep Mode. It's been said for years that Windows doesn't do well with Sleep Mode, I'm convinced that still rings true today.
    Hibernation yes, Sleep Mode questionable.

    Ah, I haven't been an MVP in a few years. Se la vie . . . I didn't have a website.

I think I'm going to take a break from this for tonight. I think if it was a big issue the ISO's would have been pulled from MSDN, and they haven't. Not yet anyway. I think its an issue with how it reads and uses OEM keys without asking first. Some people are getting 10 Home when they were using 10 Pro before doing a clean install. Then can't figure out how to get back to Pro. Then feel like they got ripped off. Anyway see you all tomorrow some time.

Oh? I use sleep mode all the time. No problems. Earlier today I had a BSOD for some reason. A fluke I concluded. Haven't had one for a few builds. Anywho, of course it rebooted and ran great for, oh, 5 hours including 2 sleeps while I was out for snow removal. I did shut 'er down for a nap. Nothing so far for another 3 hours.

Thanks for the reports, alpha. Pro to Home seems like the most plausible reason, especially if they weren't yanked from MSDN. We shall know more by Monday I would think.

My experience with sleep mode has been bad, but I like to give it a try after a big MS update. I don't know if I can blame Windows this time, this happened after I updated my Nvidia driver to 359.

I must have turned off hibernation years ago, fast SSDs is the way to go.

When I did a clean install of windows 10, it gave me a choice between home or pro, I did use the media creation tool to create the iso image. I chose home because that is what I have.

soo..for those of us who actually got the update installed successfully before it was pulled, what do we do now?
    Nothing...until we know more Monday.

That's MY question! :) I have it on three computers!....I have it clean installed, so no going backward.
I have it as an upgrade on a laptop and a clean install on a desktop - both have no issues so far.

Updated the Acer laptop on the 17th via MCT - have both Tech Bench & MCT .iso as well as Tech Bench DVD. I also still have the 1511 MCT version on my desktop.

A few questions (perhaps just 'educated guesses' but maybe somebody has first hand experience since MS removed the 1511 upgrade/update) -

    1) If i use the 1511 MCT tool to update (NOT clean install) my desktop, do you think it will work, considering it has to download files from MS?

    2) How about using the Tech Bench DVD i created, would that be a better way of updating (i don't think it needs to download any files since the files would already be on the DVD, correct??)

Any and all responses mucho appreciated!

OBTW Wynona, it's c'est la vie not se la vie. LOL, methinks you had Spanish and French on the brain!
