PC Support Reps Tell Users to Uninstall Windows 10

There 's no doubt that W7 was best Windows, (MS even extended it's life span), until W8.1 that is, on which W10 heavily leans. There's no bloody IT support person that's going to convince me that W10 is not best yet and I had ALL of windows. Why ? Simple, I had not one problem associated to the best windows until 10 and that's W7 Sr1. Everything that I wanted to ad to W7 has been implemented in 10. I used to change many settings in W7 that are simply default in 10.
I'm not singing praises to W10, just simply stating that everything works better than ever before.

And I'm in agreement, Count. And I come from DOS>Windows 3.1 (skipped 3.0), 95, 98, ME, Vista, 7 and 8.1 and every update version I missed since then. Like you, ain't nobody gonna convince me to back off Windows 10!
It may not be the best thing since sliced bread, but it's much more than the sum of all previous versions. And yes, I have one bug that's hung around for several of the newer versions (my HP wide bed printer thinks it's a Japanese version), but I'm pretty sure they'll iron that one out too.

No way will windows 10 fade away, it is here to stay.
Just because it has nothing for you Trust_No1 does not mean they are going to not still carry on with it.
I like it I take it you never used DOS or 95,98 or the early ones before XP well I did and compared to them and vista Windows 10 is a god send.
There was nothing wrong with Vista that spending a few quid on some extra RAM couldn't put right. It just got caught in the internet echo-chamber, unlike win8, which was a genuinely poor, ill-conceived and misbegotten abomination. Also, I still use the command prompt sometimes, although PowerShell is much better 
XP also started out with a hideous GUI that required the application of a liberal dose of WindowBlinds to cure, but after that it was OK. Windows 2000 was an ace OS, though again a bit ugly but in an inoffensive way, unlike the Fischer-Price look of XP.

Vista was just too short lived to be properly evaluated, I even had it going on a single core Athlon, Barton core 2500 i think and it was not nearly as bad as many were saying. At that time I was on a purely XP machine, transiting to next level (AM2) but just couldn't afford buying W7 so I used a version of Vista from you know where. Couple of month later I transitioned to W7 and felt like coming home.
Not even Alpha edition of W8 could phase me although in that state it was horrible and deadly unreliable but I hung on to it in dual boot probably sensing that it's riding on a wave of future. I don't think I was wrong but "future is not for us to see" as the song goes.

Went back to 7 because i know (for me) Win 10 didn't have anything or offer anything that i wanted .
Interesting fredc cause your profile says you ARE running Windows 10?? But you write that you've gone back to Windows 7 ?
That's fine with me, don't get me wrong, just confused a little.

No link, but I do have a PDF of the survey in its entirety, so if you PM me, I would be glad to send you a copy. The IT Professionals, which this conference is for, represent Governments and medium to large scale businesses, so size and complexity have a huge bearing on the survey results. As others here have pointed out, compelling events and circumstances can impact proposed plan dates, so what is expected today can change tomorrow in Business and Government. Overall I think MS would be very pleased with the outcome of this survey, as a very respectable percentage of medium sized businesses say they will be ready in 2016. Governments have a very complex process so they skew the large scale end quite dramatically.
Yeah, I am surprised at the aggressive time schedule for Windows 10 planning.
Frankly, if this thread were a company, and you were the IT guy for that company, you would be fired because of the many upgrade failures.
Perhaps that's part of the reason why a great majority is planning for new hardware rather than upgrade. Although new hardware that fully supports the new security features of Windows 10 Enterprise won't be cheap https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/.../dn798752.aspx

Firefox is not Windows 10. Not even Internet Explorer is Windows 10. Edge is Windows 10.
Edge is thus a measuring stick (of many) for gauging Windows 10 readiness for 'work'.
Another measuring stick is those polling stats discussed further up, BTW.
They are very well meaningful, if you read them correctly.
My comment about Firefox was that there is no need to wait for things like an improved IE or Edge in order for Windows 10 to ready for the corporate world. There needs to be a stable and secure operating system. Once that happens, and the rest of the stuff included with Win10 stays out of the way of the business' suite of needed applications, Win10 is ready.
