I don't like Edge, I think Cortana is a bore, I think the interface is ugly and boring, it's apps are lame. The app store is lacking, why would anyone update, just because it is new? Sounds like a bogus reason to me.

The Reps are spot on, as far as I can tell.
Hi Mr. No One. . .see you are here again telling us how bad Windows 10 is for you. . .just wondering why you have to keep reminding us of something we already know. . .. . .BTW reps are not always right, some just don't really know a thing. . .. . .Hope that makes sense, my head is having problems tonight. . .sorry if it doesn't. . .

Polls.polls, polls, since when can they be taken seriously ? They can be tailored to suit any need and wish and even than depend on sample. Polls are used extensively in voting for instance and every party can have "legitimate" polls that differ widely.

New models are shining, with better optionals, are almost noiseless, they are more environment friendly not to mention the new factory made smell.

Could this be the answer to this kind of philosophical question?

No, but it might be the answer to some philosophical question

Sure, I'm testing W10 out of curiosity. But on a separate machine. And frankly, I don't see any reason to migrate my work machine. I just don't see anything in W10 that W7 cannot do, at least as far as my needs and the programs I'm using. The fact that the design is flat and square does not help the case either. But the main question has nothing to do with design. It's simply that my work machine is working well. Why would I want to mess with it?
This is a good point and one that has come into much sharper focus since windows 8. This showed definitively that an 'upgrade' can not only be a step backwards, it can be absolute rubbish. The huge wave of disappointment, anger, and then indifference that greeted 8 must have come as a massive wake-up call to microsoft. It certainly changed the views of even enthusiasts with regard to the whole 'upgrade' process. I have a windows 10 machine to fool about with, but my main machine will remain Windows 7 for the forseeable future.

As in, 'there is some philosopher such that...'?
A physicist, a mathematician and a logician are on a train and see a black sheep. The physicist says, "Look! They have black sheep here!". The mathematician says, "No, we can only say there is at least one black sheep here". The logician says, "No, we can only say there is at least one sheep at least one side of which is black!"

No way will windows 10 fade away, it is here to stay.
Just because it has nothing for you Trust_No1 does not mean they are going to not still carry on with it.
I like it I take it you never used DOS or 95,98 or the early ones before XP well I did and compared to them and vista Windows 10 is a god send.

No link, but I do have a PDF of the survey in its entirety, so if you PM me, I would be glad to send you a copy. The IT Professionals, which this conference is for, represent Governments and medium to large scale businesses, so size and complexity have a huge bearing on the survey results. As others here have pointed out, compelling events and circumstances can impact proposed plan dates, so what is expected today can change tomorrow in Business and Government. Overall I think MS would be very pleased with the outcome of this survey, as a very respectable percentage of medium sized businesses say they will be ready in 2016. Governments have a very complex process so they skew the large scale end quite dramatically.
