edit , the charms bar still not working even thought it set to when I mouse the top right corner.
new version of IE now has a smiley face top right ,to send a smiley or frown for issues on websites

The charms bar came up for me when I edge swiped my laptops touchpad. It wouldn't do that in 9860. I haven't tried to bring it up with a mouse yet though. I usually turn the edge swipe for that off. This is the Enterprise 9879.

EDIT: I couldn't get that top right corner thing to work in the last build. I'm on my desktop PC at the moment, I'll try to remember to test it out when I fire my laptop back up.

thanks for that ,iam on the basic prieview, I have the enterprise on another drive that I have to manually hook back up and disconnect the ssd drive that iam duel booting 8,1 and 10,
will hook it up now maybe and do the update to win10 E 9879
to see what happens with charms bar

I'm back on my laptop now. Still can't get the hot corners to work for the charms bar. I can't open it with my mouse (trackball) either. I can open it up by edge swiping my touch pad though. Windows Logo key and C will bring it up too.


Something else I noticed today is the option to boot to the Desktop instead of the Start Menu isn't greyed out anymore? When I first installed it was checked and greyed out. I was locked into booting to the Desktop. I'm not sure what unlocked it, a Windows update maybe, there was on rather large one?

Has anybody noticed if there are any new gestures in this build? It's hard for me to tell as I've installed the ASUS Smart gesture Utility. So far its the only driver/utility I've had to install. Without it I have no scroll function on my touch pad. It doesn't have a dedicated scroll section and uses a two finger swipe to scroll.

How do you get a 4 quarter snap? I can get two half screen but how do you get 4?

If somebody already answered this my apologies, I'm slowly going over posts trying to catch up with what's going on.
If you open a desktop program and press the Windows Logo key and the arrow keys it will work Press the Windows key and left or right arrow key to snap to half screen then press the Windows key and the up or down arrow key to snap to quarter screen. Just hold the Windows key down and play with the arrow keys and you'll see what I mean. It doesn't work all that well for Metro Apps though. Not for me anyway on my Laptops 1600 x 900 screen.

The video really isn't about Continuumn except maybe looking for it. Continuumn is when one has a hybrid convertible it changes Modern with Start Screen to desktop mode with Start Menu when detaching a keyboard. The onscreen keyboard option will appear also.

I'm still locked/greyed out of booting to Start Screen.

I was too after the initial install, its selectable now though. I don't know what unlocked it. My guess is a Windows update, there was one rather large one. Run windows update and see what happens.

EDIT: Ops, I'm referring to the Boot to Start Screen being locked out.

Yes I could change to Linux or OSX, or I can stay with Win7 or Windows 8.1 with my Start8, all of which are very good operating systems.

I am content with Windows 8.1 and my Start8 menu, I see no reason to change (at least not to Windows 10, it is my least favorite), IMHO Windows 10 is simply not very elegant, but I will keep your suggestion in mind.

I agree with Trust_No1, when I was testing out windows 10, there is no part that resembles Windows 7 that I noticed. That sure won't get Windows 7 uses to move to Windows 10.

Trust_No1, there are several Linux desktops with start menu (technically called application menu) that are similar to windows 98se through Windows 7. Even if you find a favorite distro, you can also install your favorite desktop.

Microsoft ought to take a cue from Linux. Have different desktops add ons that can be added from windows 1.0 through windows 10 and on.

I like the idea of flexibility as much as anyone but to expect that much is asking a lot from MS or any company. If you like Linux or Win7 stick with it. It seems that Win10 is not the OS for you.

I agree. Well, there are enough to suit my needs and wants from this version of windows.
