Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 10586 for PC Insider
-
you can use windows 7 or 8.1 key to activate this build
This is just a "disposable VM.
Seriously I just install them to see what's new and tear the registry apart, it's not for any real use. I didn't even install any software these last couple of times.
But until now I haven't seen any nagging, I just can't personalize them. I have 2 PC's running 10 legally.

Looks like a clean install is in my near future. :)
I'll probably be doing that as well once Threshold2 drops and there is an ISO that includes it. But I have so much stuff on my main computer system partition, much of it heavily customized, that I'll be facing 2 or 3 days of work once I tackle it.

... is included in the right click context menu for files and folders in Build 10586?
(I hadn't noticed!)
Opens results in the Windows Defender UI.
sweet!

I'm going to clean install on my laptop. Not much on it other than Windows and Office. I'm debating doing it on my desktop, haven't decided yet. It has a lot of programs installed. It was originally upgraded from 8.1 to 10 Pro, so this will a second upgrade install if I go that route.

'Hidden' Menu feature in 10586
I didn't know about this one; probably great for touch devices:

Tried this one friend and not working for me ....

I've clean installed Build 10586 x64 in VirtualBox and Activated it using my Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Key.
All working so far. I will use this Version to test and report back.
On the latest VM Workstation 12 Player neither one or the other VM will be activated with anything. Have to try again using one of the other 7 keys here.

With the av program used here I see the icon for that instead since the WD features is automatically disabled. That option is also seen in 7 as well so nothing new there. You have to go by what is in the Insider Blog to find out just what the changes or fixes are.
Hey guys, I've been a little busy lately so I haven't had much time to play around in these last two builds (10576 and 10586) in particular. I was just wondering if this was 'NORMAL' or did I do something to mess up my features in Windows 10. I noticed now, that in the RTM 10240 when you right-click the task bar and start menu or desktop the menus are white on black text, doesn't matter where you click.
However, in this version I noticed that when I right click on the desktop its white on black text, but when I right-click the taskbar its black on white texts for the taskbar and startmenu. Is this normal? Has this color scheme been changed by Microsoft in this TP release? Or did I mess up my settings somewhere with colors? I tried playing around in Personalization and couldn't find anything. I was wondering if this is NORMAL or did I mess something up? I will attach pictures to explain what I mean.
Notice how when I right click the desktop its white background on black text for context menu? All menus are like this in the RTM 10240. But when I did a right-click on the taskbar or start button, it came up reversed, black background on white text. Is this the new change now by Microsoft? I was just wondering, because I didn't see any mention on this. Or I was wondering if I screwed something up by any chance, lol.
Thanks,
Now that you mentioned it I'm seeing the exact same setting for the VM on the main build. I'll have to check the one on tthe second desktop but will likely find the same there as well. If you can get it activated you can then go into the Personalization settings to make changes to the Taskbar and Start menu themes and choose or unchoose the high contrast options as well. The taskbar is also black as well not matching the desktop's theme for some reason. All the options will remain greyed out until the build is activated.
