Since I haven't installed my SSD, I don't know yet what I'm missing. Pretty fast here without one, though. :)
Once you do install an SSD thou, you will never want to go back to a spinner.....ever. :)

So I'll need to get one for my four laptops too if I want to stay happy with them?

Well you don't have too, its up to you. WoW 4 laptops....holy smokes. :) But right now prices are really good for the Samsung models. Some are under 100.00 right now.

Any recommendations for a top of the line SSD?

Samsung and Intel are very good ones. But for lots of folks now, Samsung seems to be getting very popular, because of their prices and speed.

It just kinda happened. :) My first one is 15.6", which is small, so I needed bigger. The 17" Lappy died, so had to buy a new one, but in the meantime, had to borrow one from son-in-law, and he didn't want it back. That's three . . . I'm trading a 10.1" tablet for another one (got a bigger tablet) for a 17" laptop that a friend wants to upgrade, so that's four.

If I want to be happy with the laptops after I upgrade this machine to SSD, guess I will want to, if not need to get the extra SSDs. :)

Yep, I do understand how things can change. :) I just recently bought a slightly used Desktop (only 1 year old) that came with a 27" monitor WoW what a difference, I almost don't need my glasses....almost.....I have always preferred desktops thou, I have 3 of them, but retired one last week, even thou it still runs fine. I'll keep it as a backup. I like to tear them apart and upgrade them, and laptops for me are just too hard to work on, cause everything is small, and my eyes are old. :)

Got one, but haven't had the guts to install it, since this is an OEM system. I'll get there; just gotta think on it for awhile.

In terms of noticeable difference, nothing imho comes close to the first time you switch to an ssd for OS drive. And as mentioned you will never go back:)
