Data shows IE remains the leading browser worldwide

Internet Explorer is no longer the default browser in Windows, but this doesn't necessarily mean that everyone is ready to give up on it and switch to a different application.

Statistics provided by Net Applications for October 2015 show that Internet Explorer continues to lead the browser world with a share of 50.86 percent, which means that at least one in two PC users actually launched this particular browser last month.

Google Chrome is the second option for desktop users with a share of 31.12 percent while Firefox is third with 11.28 percent.

Version-wise, Internet Explorer 11 is number one with 24.36 percent, but this isn't surprising at all, given the fact that it's the default browser in Windows 7 and 8.1, two of the most-used versions of Windows right now.

I think somebody is making stats up.

    Let's check some other sources.....

StatCounter Global Stats - Browser, OS, Search Engine including Mobile Usage Share - Chrome 53%, IE 15%
    W3Counter: Global Web Stats - Chrome 44.8%, IE 13.7%
    Browser Statistics - Chrome 65%, IE 7.2%

And from our own stats - Chrome 51%, Edge 12%, IE 8.83%

Until MS gets Edge "honed" in, Firefox gets my bid. Not Chrome, not IE.

I think I've tracked down the original source of those stats.

    To each his own.
I have been using IE since Vista days. I am used to it, comfortable with it, and I'll stay with it.
Hate Edge, but eventually it will be the only browser in Windows. Nothing I can do about it.
But for now I am with IE11.
