Why should any of us who has paid for a new laptop or disc with Genuine windows let Pirates have windows for nothing or even part of it.
They should be made to pay full price and then made to activate their copy by phone.
I can see you know nothing about IT, except for the things that you could learn from a book.
I presume to know what you think, by reading your comments.
You got yourself into a conversation, where you have no idea what you are talking about.
Go get a degree in computer science, then we can continue this conversation.
Please don't respond to this message, as i will not answer you.

We the legitimate users pay the price for pirates. We pay more for Windows and Office because others steal it and Microsoft has to recoup the loses. We have to deal with extra checks like Genuine Advantage. Long complex product keys. The list goes on. Then we get idiots that seem to think its no big deal. Well it is a big deal.
I have worked my entire life for commercial software companies, starting out in tech support almost 20 years ago and doing systems engineering on Linux and Windows boxes since around 1999. Many moons ago, there wasn't the great plethora of free apps/open source we have today. If I cannot find a free software that meets my needs, then obviously paying for a commercial app that does meet my needs is acceptable to me.
People complain about the high cost of Windows, but then you look inside their rig and see a $400+ video card, water cooler, half a dozen case fans, useless LED lights, etc. It's not always a matter of not having the money, its a matter of "why pay when I don't have to".
I do feel the pirates have more trouble with viruses/malware, etc. If they troll sites offering pirated software they open themselves us to other nasties, etc. Who knows that somebody did with a preactivated version of Windows. For the relatively low price of Windows, I won't bother finding out.
Like I said, I work in commercial software. I don't pirate anything and haven't in 10+ years. The money spent for me has been relatively small and totally worth it. If you argue Windows ain't woth the price, use Linux. If Linux is too hard, limited, intimidating, not good for games....then maybe re-evaluate whether Windows maybe is worth the price.
