I know MS from changed the name from 10 TP to 10 Preview. It's still for testing and that's what I use it for. I still do my main computing in the RTM version.
Well the latest 10586 build may just be what the doctor ordered since no watermark hints a general release which will replace the 10240! Then sometime later another such build will replace that until next summer when the El Perfecto Build arrives after everyone has already been running 10.

Likewise when pointing out that Edge was still pretty much a beta of what was to come some didn't take that too well while it just happens to coincide with how MS is smoothing things out there as well as with 10 in general before the paid for 10 upgrade arrives next year. How does it heel knowing you were one of the testers for Edge as well as for 10 even if you weren't signed up for the Insider program? MS is playing it smart with this one compared to how they fumbled the ball with 8!

Ok after the upgrade(I also saw this on the preview version shortly before) Edge is rendering pages now as fast as it loads sites, and that, even though it loads ALL the ads(including flash and HTML 5 ones that suck up load time like 50 startup apps do boot time) That's the one major complaint I had, not the ads, just the render time. But also it's more compatible with even more site(including the message/source editor on this one). I am very happy now.
I prefer Edge for it's superior graphics, but haven't used it much because of the above, but it really is getting there fast, to where I can switch to it as my "Daily Browser" and not just for "certain things".
It's even respecting my "Back a page-scroll button-left click" on my Logitech M325 mouse:). I use to have to always move the cursor to the back page arrow.
I haven't had any crashes or freezing yet either, which are caused because Edge shares iertutil.dll(Internet Explorer Run Time Utility Library) with Internet Explore, and it seems because of this sharing, corruptions to it can happen causing problem in both browsers..

It still has a ways to go and so far no menu bar option found which is one big annoyance right off the top! Without any menu bar there's no view tab where you end up back in the right corner while on Opera that would be the upper left hand corner for that drop down menu. That make a bit too awkward for "Daily use" here since I end up multitasking quite a bit!

Yup NH I love to use the menu bar too(always have) to have really fast access to the browser options, without having to search & search through their settings menus.

I don't like Edge because you can't add certain add-ons that I find important for my enjoyment of the internet.

Also, the Edge control options are very minimal. The favorite section looks like something Apple would do with reading lists etc. To me it's a jumbled mess. Edge does load fast, but really not that much faster then FF or IE in terms of page load. IE 11 seems faster to me.

I like IE 11 much better but my favorite is FF because of its customizability. I wish IE would make a dedicated search field on the right side like they used to have so long ago.

I'll continue to keep an open mind and check it out from time to time, but so far, it's just an odd curiosity to me.
