    I will never switch over.
Edge is a mobile browser, with a ton of security issues.
Firefox is the safest browser on this Planet.
Well, if you know how to use it of course.
Edge is fast, but buggy and totally unsecure

    Cheers

Why you say Edge is a mobile Browser
What security issues as I have not come up against any
I use it 100% with no trouble
    Not buggy or unsecure

You now prove your statement and proof and we might believe you.
You see unlike you I am using it all the time, I have no other browser installed.
I don't like Chrome, never used FF.

Edge is a cross platform Windows 10 browser and Windows 10 phone OS is a different build than Windows 10 RTM or 10576 and presumably the Edge browser in the phone build may be a little different .

FWIW some of the usual PC webzines say Edge is the most secure browser specifically for Windows 10

Of course Chrome and IE 11 and presumably Edge are sandboxed ,AFAIK F/F is not sandboxed right now so any of the other 3 browsers of course would be more secure than Firefox anyway .

That being said F/F is a real decent browser IMO aside form the major security issue of not being sandboxed and still using NPAPI plugin's but I've read that will all shake out in time .

My default PC browser is Chrome it's overall the best one as far as I'm concerned and most the web zines agree YMMV .
I also have F/F on my Windows 10 RTM admin act on this dual boot RTM /10576 PC along with the other 3 browsers .

Hi there. What security issues are those? I use Edge and I'd like to know if it's safe enough.

    Hi,
Misleading info, that mainstream media is force feeding the public with.
Fact is: Flash and PDF Reader is build into Microsoft Edge.
If any developer, hacker, coder, or security person see those words "Flash",
    They immediately see:
    Security Flaws..Security vulnerability

So if you like Edge, and think it is safe...Good for you.

Oh.. By the way. Those sandboxes only keep Scripts running inside the sandbox, But Nothing else.
So, Firefox is still much safer, even without a Sandbox, as you can switch scripts on or of or install plugins to manage your scripts.

    Cheers

I'll start using Edge when I can import ALL my bookmarks from Firefox and use plugins. Otherwise why bother.

FWIW I don't particularly care for Edge and don't use it or IE 11 much at all . I use Chrome . Chrome uses their own pepper flash plugin and their own PDF reader/printer if you enable it both of which can be click to enable or disabled at will .
Edge is the default Win 10 PDF reader for Windows 10 pdf files and with IE 11 or Edge also if you change the defaults

Fortunately Youtube and Netflix and a lot of other sites are using or moving to HTML 5 defaults instead of Silverlight or Flash .

IE 11 uses whatever they have built in as does Edge i.e. they don't use the NPAPI Plug-in for Adobe Flash like F/F .

While a sand box isn't foolproof it's a nice layer to have anyway .

FWIW I don't allow NPAPI Plug-in's that can run outside of a sand box on my machines any more that's old school
and I don't want to use more plug ins to manage scripts that seems counter productive as opposed to a more secure browser ..

If you don't think a sandbox is a good thing for a browser and want to ignore the fact that IE 11 ,Chrome and Edge may all be more secure than F/F still using NPAPI Plug-in's in Windows 10 then that's your choice .

Like I said before F/F is a decent browser IMO if it weren't for some security things I would put it a strong second behind Chrome . I'm not telling anybody not to use it either I have it on my RTM partition and once they loose the NPAPI Plug-in for Adobe Flash or any NPAPI Plug-in's like that and sandbox they might be up to speed .

Any links to any credible 3rd party tests to say F / F is more secure in Win 10 than the other browsers here or is this just an unqualified opinion you have ?

Isn't Windows 10 always a beta to some level even what is released to the public? Another words it is what I call a rolling release.
The Tech Previews followed the Alpha and early beta stages. Prior to July 29 you would have seen the equivalent to the older form of Release Candidate while the present 10240 people are buying is the initial RTM(Release To Manufacturing) build. The change is how things will be upgraded however will be more on the idea of how each Service pack was put on as well as a comparison to how a 2014 version of an av program is upgraded to the 2015.

The upgrade is by way of Windows Software Updates over buying upgrade media when downloaded while the full install version(OEM and Retail both) remains available for systems that wouldn't see any upgrade either brand new or replacement of OS with a clean install. The Insider builds are not actually any different from developer builds that came out prior to any previous version's service packs since the later media saw the SP1 and SP2 inclusion over the initial release without.

The beta of something either with a Windows version or upcoming release of a new version for some program would fall under "For Testing Purposes Only" since it isn't far enough along for the retail marker and general release. With 7 the RC followed the first Public Beta builds while other developer builds were leaked at times and always should be avoided! Likewise word of leaked 10 builds are nothing to go after either!

No browser is finished but you're trying to compare a new browser to ones that have been around a long time. It's an apple/oranges comparison. Let's be honest here, we have no idea when Edge will get up to par with FF/Chrome but it will, IMO.,
The definitions for the word "Finished" can have many applications! As long as something is still seeing support updates to enable new features as well as fix bugs seen from coding errors doesn't specify one version or some program as not being finished for general use. One Classic example is XP which was to see an OS loaded with bugs for many years until finally MS decided to see SP3 come out with the long awaited 1,000+ Fixes! Finally XP was turned into a working OS since it's rush job back in 2001 following the ME flop while 2000 and 2000 Pro on the other hand were actually favored highly compared to what was seen with XP!

10 now is where any other previous version would be after it's launch date still needing to see coding errors fixed and corrections made while it is the finished retail product as far as going out on the market! What OEM or Full Retail? You can buy 10 outright at any reputable pc components vendor like Newegg or TigerDirect as two examples. Mwave or Amazon.

Now as far as Edge is concerned it offers a Favorites bar while a browser like Opera which has been out now for years still lacks in that area. But while you can take IE, FF, CyberFox, Waterfox, Navigator, Pale Moon, etc where you see either the Favorites(IE) or Bookmarks bar you can drag the address right onto the bar itself without the need to click any Plus button. You can easily rearrange the favorites or bookmarks dragging them from the drop down scrolling list when they go past the edge of the screen while in Edge you have to stretchhhhh... the favorites across multiple displays and still can't rearrange what will remain as the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th,,,,, etc. items. Something still isn't right while MS thinks it was ready for 10?

I don't use edge. And I won't consider it until the following features are enabled: (i) running multiple instances of the browser with totally different, separate profiles - that is, different set of bookmarks, preferences, add-ons, separate cookie folders, etc. (ii) automatic selective cookie deletion on browser exit. (iii) effective adblock of some sort.

Now, Firefox has all of the above. Since that's what I need from a browser, I'll keep using Firefox.

Here I got the latest 64bit FF on and couldn't tell it apart from Waterfox other then the icon for the desktop shortcut. Apparently Mozilla saw the independent faring well with the 64bit variant as well as the other spin offs like Cyberfox and Pale Moon and finally gave up a 64bit flash player. As for features and quite a bit more settings take a look at Cyberfox if you are into that sort of thing!

You could actually take a screen from each browser as far as having or not having a bookmarks bar like Chrome and the Knoppix browser Ice Weasal, Konquerer, Flock, and a few other open source options. They look more like popup annoyances when placed up against the other more or less full featured browser as some would vent.

With Edge along with those two you can't simply drag the address down onto the bookmarks bar like you see with the IE Favorites bar and the FIrefox variants allowing you to put a new site up front. Instead everything new gets stuffed at the bottom of the unassorted or far end of the bar without being able to rearrange things. That was the immediate annoyance here not having seen any particular issues while with the 10586 on a VM the progress in the newer builds may shed some light there.
